OH, wow, I didn't know they had a trailer out. Quite interesting. I wonder how the actual movie will play out.

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

I've watched and loved the origional. The werewolf was odd, but they did a great job with what they had at that time. And Lon Chaney Jr. played the role for Talbot very nicely. ^^

I watched the trailer thinking, 'This should be great! Now that computers have practically brought werewolves to life, they can go even further with the new version and improve it!'
But behold, they didn't. At least that's what I've seen by the trailer. Kinda pointless if you ask me. hmm
I'll most likely see it anyway due to the fact I can't turn down watching ANY werewolf movie if given the chance.

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

While it would've been nice if the wolfman looked a little more wolf-like, my only real problem with the movie so far, based on the trailer, is that Benicio del Toro's acting looked pretty stiff.

Lovely trailer, but boy do I hope that that silly CGI "pop-eye" moment is not part of the final cut...

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

I agree I think CGI can be over done and needs to be kept to a minimum to keep the over all effect real.

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

It will be interesting if someday they come to a balance between the CGI and other affects. I find that some of the older styles that used filming techniques to work better in some cases, however no days they rarely touch that style of filmography.

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

I'm expecting this to be my favorite movie ever made. The Wolfman looks beyond amazing. Rick Baker is some kinda magician with those hands of his. I can't wait to see it. Hope they don;t push back the release anymore.

The new trailer was posted today.  The shot of the werewolf's pissed off face during transformation is awesome.

Cool trailer.  Hopefully, CGI doesn't overtake what could look better practical.  There must definitely be a balance.

Thank you for getting that song from "South Park" (I'M GONNA MAKE LOVE TO YA WOOOMANNNN GONNA LAY YOU DOWN BY THE FIIIIRE) stuck in my head, good sir.

Also, the movie seriously looks really, REALLY sweet. If this sucks and the trailers are misleading - like the ones for that gently caressing terrible movie "Darkness" - then I will be bitterly disappointed.

I agree. The Trailers are making it look quite good, and I hope that they follow through with that expectation.

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

I just can't wait to see this movie. If it's as good as the trailers are I think it's gonna be my fav movie of all time!
Those decorations are just so great. And the full moons in the trailers... sweet!
Damn, almost 3 months left.

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

I can't BELIEVE I have to wait so long to see it now!
...it's weird cause at first, it looked kinda disappointing. But after seeing the new trailer...
OMFG... the werewolf's anatomy looked awesome! Did you see those legs and clawed/pawed feet and hands?!
I guess if it's gonna be called 'Wolf Man', the face has to have a very small snout and fluffy style like the original...
I still think they could do better there, but it's fine for the transformation bits won me over! <3

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

Possible spoiler:

From what I read in an interview, this particular werewolf only attacks people who attempt to do harm to it first.  Not all bad I guess.  No doubt, the theme of mankind being the savage will probably make an appearance.

My God that'd be awesome! Maybe a slight chance of the werewolf NOT dying even? big_smile
Lack of CGI or no, if what you say is true, this is going to be one of the best werewolf movies ever!
Trying not to get my hopes to up now, in case of let down...

That kind of contradicts the whole "wolfman chasing emily blunt through the woods" thing.

Re: The "new" Wolf Man movie

Did you catch the shot in the trailer of the werewolf slowly kneeling down toward her while she was laying on the ground?  It didn't seem in a big hurry to eat her.

Yeah, I saw that.

But then, that still doesn't explain away the chasing after her. Unless she tried to kill it, which I doubt.
