And sorry, but in no way in hell is that a wolf. Were or not. That's a cat. And werecats are not scary.

Ah, the movie finally feels like it's on it's way. Two new T.V. spots for the film have been airing.

We get another shot of the transformation. Frankly, I don't really like it. To cartoony in my honest opinion, but in the end The Wolfman isn't about the transformation scene, so I think in this instance I can forgive. The Wolfman looks great. I know there is a subgroup of werewolf fans who are bashing this movie because the Wolfman is not "wolfy" enough, but eh... they can feel free to stick with New Moon and it's werepuppies. This movie seems to be the antithisis of the sparkleization movement that's been sweeping the fandom, and I for one am glad for it.
All in all, I'm excited. As a fan of both werewolf movies and the Universal Classics.

haha that's a figurine not officially licensed. Plus his hair sticks out more. If you find it check out the michael Jackson souvenir special (verrrryyyyyy rare) b/c it has a pic of Mike in the Thriller Werewolf mask on his bad tour. That's a GREAT PICTURE but I'm not finding it anymore and I think they took it out of the amazon database b/c it's vhs. yeahhhhh poorr judgement call. haha And look we didn't have were cats, dogs, hyenas, lioins, etc until recently so he's a werewolf. Mike and John both said he wanted to be a werewolf. I do agree now it could be a werecat but they'd said werewolf all in the 80s and 90s. It's hot though you gotta admit. My beef is why are they plugging Wolfman during the Thriller spot.
yeah I saw the new trailers. I'm excited to see a werewolf movie so..... doesn't this come out Valentine's Day? I forget.

Thanks for posting those. I agree about the cartoony transformation. Hopefully some of it is unfinished material for advanced marketing, though I still don't think anything could make the eyeball shot in other trailers look good.
Probably best to set standards low before seeing the movie. Watch Darkwolf a few times first and pretend that is the state of the art.

Also, Emily Blunt makes my eyes shoot rainbows.
I seriously can't wait for the movie.

Personally, I don't really mind if the werewolf is more "wolfy" or more "humanoid". If it looks scary, then it works for me. So what I don't really like are real wolves used as werewolves (because wolves themselves are quite beautiful animals) or ape-look-a-like masks... both of them samples of where NOT to save money when you produce a werewolf movie.

I JUST saw the commercial on the TV for the first time! I was in hysterics. If I'm still near the IMAX theater when it comes out next month, I'm so going to see it in 3-D!!! >8D
I was there just the other day to see Avatar (not to be off topic for a moment, but that movie was EPIC), and there was this freakin' seven foot tall movie poster thing by us in the line... couldn't help but think, "I wonder if there's anyway in HELL I can fit that up my shirt..."
And the site for the movie has some awesome updates too :3

"Look at me Lawrence, you know who I am!"
Ouch. Sounds heart wrenching.
There's also a Wolfman game on Facebook that allows you play as either the Wolfman or Agent Smith (Francis Aberline). I don't have a Facebook so I haven't played it. You can find the link on the Wolfman facebook page.
EDIT: The final Wolfman poster is here.

I heartily approve of this message and/or service.
And for those of us who lack facebook pages, there's a new Wolfman mobile game that's coming out.

Hmmm. I don't want to draw any conclusions from a side scrolling beat'em up for a mobile phone, but I wonder how well the character model for the enemy werewolf reflects the actual design. The Pack's Den crowd might get a wolfier werewolf after all.

I can't wait. We're getting closer and closer. I usually don't get popcorn at the movies, but I'm getting popcorn and cola. I wanna experience this movie old school style. (Hey should I go in my Michael Jackson Thriller costume and stage a stunt with my lady like when Ola Ray walked out and Mike said "It's only a movie!!!")

Okay, this is a poor quality vid, but it's still overwhelmingly epic.

I fell in love with the original black and white wolfman so I love it that they are bringing it back. I always thought it a bit of a strech that they would do a full transformation.

Just picked up the novelization by Jonathan Maberry. With luck I won't read it this weekend.
Also, passing by the theater on the way home I saw they have a huge banner for the movie hung across the front of the place. I'm trying to figure out if anyone would notice me putting up a ladder and taking the thing home with me.

Opens in theaters on February 12th. Saw the first commercial last night on TV.

I've been looking forward to the novel for some time. I'll have to pick it up ASAP.
Two weeks to go, people.

Some new clips on io9.com: http://io9.com/5460044/7-new-wolfman-cl … sformation
. . . including what I swear to god is an old-timey homage to the last scene in "American Werewolf In London" where the beast runs around causing car crashes.

Wolfman looks even better in motion than he does in all the stills.
Seriously. Awesome design. Awesome performance. The CGI is a little weak, but I'll live with it.
Acting is all excellent, score is top notch.
Seriously, I'll be very surprised if this movie fails to deliver on the big screen. All signs point to "pwn".

This guy is seriously one of the best werewolf designs I've seen to date. Certainly one of the best for a theatrical film.

Anthony Hopkins looks like he's having a lot of fun in his role. Great clips.
