The Wolf-Leader book sounds cool, but daaang, that's a teeny bit steep!

I just got a copy of The Wolf-Leader from the central library downtown!  It is so old that they never put the computerized bar codes in it and it still has the old check out card.  The last time it was taken out was December 1956!!

So far it is really interesting.  It's got humor, envy, vengence, deals with the Devil... I'm really excited about this book and its a shame it's been out of print in English for over fifty years.

Re: Werewolf Book Lists

Well, I hope that fit's in here and doesn't count as 'Necroposting':

I've started a listing in Access a few years back on Werewolf Books, Comics, Storys, Songs etc.
back in the days when I thought that I would someday take the time to get a better grip of that program which I never did, so it's not as comfortable as it could be.

But if there's any interest I can look for a hosting site and put it up.
The file has grown to 10MB size as of yet and has a lot of German notes included, too.

You can post a link to it in here and also post a link to it in the "Werwolves on the Internet" forum too.  There is a big werewolf book list on the main site here too (as well as a song list), but you can only see that at the full moon phases when the main site is open.

P.S. Welcome to The Werewolf Cafe!  I saw your bio and see you're from Germany, very cool.

Something to look forward to, I'm always looking for opportunitys to add new info to my list.
Especially books as I use it as a referrence when raoming eBay for old books.

Okay, I've put the file up at savefile, give me a note if that shouldn't work (never used a hosting service before):
http://www.savefile.com/files/401425

The file was made on Access 4 if I remember that correct (I'm now using Access 2000) so you may get a notice when you open it the first time that it's in an old format.

Edit:
Stupid me could have thought about that sooner- I put up a new link to a zipped file. roll

I just tried, but my computer blocked the file (for security reasons), I'll try from another computer later.

Re: Werewolf Book Lists

got a new book! It's called:
"Moon Called"
The story is about a Skin Walker named Mercy Thompson who has to deal with an Alpha Male werewolf that lives next door, a mafia type Vampire seethe, Fae, and some other creatures. The story centers around the local werewolf pack, kidnappings, and an evil organization bent on over throwing  the pack. Oh and I forgot to mention what creature Mercy can change into...Coyote. Coyote's and Werewolves, along with natural wolves, do not get along, but she has managed a friendship with a few in the pack.

Re: Werewolf Book Lists

Really like "Moon Called."

Next one should be out the end of the month.

By Patricia Briggs.

Meanwhile, I just picked up The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter.

It includes the story "Company of Wolves" was based on along with a story called "The Werewolf".

Is it a continuation of Moon Called? Or just a new book? I didn't finish Moon Called yet.

I'm about 2/3rds of the way through this book now, and I'm totally loving it smile I love her take on werewolf society, she absolutely nails in my mind the mix of human and wolf characteristics, and leaves you with a very strong sense of pack structure and the struggles inherent in the werewolf soul. Highly recommend it. smile

Re: Werewolf Book Lists

Yep, the Mercy books are good. The third one should be out...Jan 08 (so maybe sometime in Dec depending on the exact date).

Also, Carrie Vaughn's 'Kitty' books are pretty good, too.

Re: Werewolf Book Lists

Here's the (incredibly short) thread on "The Wild".  Maybe you can make it longer, AesirWolf!

http://www.forum.werewolfcafe.com/viewtopic.php?id=946

Has anyone here read the following YA werewolf books?

"Lisa Kane" by Richard Lupoff (mentions a pack of werewolves called "the Tulsa People."  Since I've lived in the Tulsa, OK, area all my life, I wonder what I've been missing!)

"Adventures of a Two-Minute Werewolf," by Gene DeWeese (might be called a juvenile.  I think it became an After-School Special or something like that many years ago.)
