Sadly, both Elisabeth Brooks and Christopher Stone passed away years ago.
While I am wary of CGI animation, it could be used in a Howling prequel or re-envisioning movie. We need a smart director/screenwriter who can craft the good story. CGI is just nice effects unless it is attached to a nice story.

What impressed me about The Howling, aside from the makeup fx, was how well it brought the concept of a shape shifting werewolf commune down to earth, suggesting that it was plausible. The characters were hokey, but the subtle portrayal of their lifestyle and the environment itself were well done. The film made me want to go live there lol.
I enjoyed the movie Wolf for similar reasons, though that was a weaker flick.

It's been a long while since I've watched any of the Howlings, but I have it on Netflix now and will revisit the original classic soon.

The only thing I didn't like about the Howling is Eddie's transformation in the clinic.
That was gently caressing dumb.
Rest of the movie is awesome.

Looks like there's a new "Howling Trilogy Collector's Edition Tin" out now.
Don't see any sign of special features but it's movies 3, 4 and 5 for cheap.

The ironic thing is that somebody out there think that Eddie's TF is the best ever done.... I prefer AWIL myself, but I've so many fights because of this. Nevertheless, I put Howling I in second place in my werewolf-movies ranking. And I hope there will be someday a female werewolf character as sexy and charming as ms. Brooks was .
