A nice effort. But it smacks of home-movie-we've-watched-a-million-trailers-syndrome. Which i guess is okay if they were going for that. Any attempt to market it might be snickered at. I will say this...whoever is doing the lighting is doing a nice job.

Oops. I just saw that it IS for direct-to-video.

Yup smile Do you remember that WEIRD ass doctor werewolf from Howling 4?? I mean, what was the girth of that critters gab?? He was the guy who was basically hanging out in the middle of the room, roaring alot, swiveling his head around and not moving an inch. He looked like a gremlin on steroids. Then of course, there are the straight up mask werewolves (also used in the same movie).

While the guy in this one does look like he tried to put a fire out with his face (and maybe the fire was on a waffle press, cause his face is kinda flat) he still had a jaw that opened, and had some pretty wicked teeth, and I liked the way they did his hair. wink

I think this film might be out on DVD on September 5th, 2006, and this looks like it is the link to it on amazon.com, but not positive: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GB … &n=130

Re: The Feeding: New Movie

The movie may be out on DVD September 5, but we can see it a lot sooner than that. I just checked out the SciFi Channel website and according to them, the movie will premiere on their channel Tuesday July 11 at 6PM ET.

So I'll guess we'll see for ourselves if this movie is worth getting or not.

Re: The Feeding: New Movie

Yeah, I saw it too. Pretty lame movie in my opinion. Had the typical stereotypes you see in a horror/werewolf movie, which I didn't like at all. Hardly any transformations that I saw and the dialogue was awful. They did put a new wrinkle into what the wolf was about, but really it didn't do much to the film overall. Not something I'd want as a DVD, so I'm glad SciFi showed it before I blew my money on it.

Re: The Feeding: New Movie

The movie "The Feeding' just came out on DVD recently and, surprisingly enough, my movie store had it. I thought I'd put in my two cents about it. So here goes.

The Feeding is a low budget release about a group of hikers, three men and four women, who encounter a theriomorph serial killer. (Werewolves always get a bad rap, don't they?) Rounding out the ensemble are two fish and wildlife rangers, male and female, trying to hunt the beast while arguing with each other about what it really is. The hikers display the typical slasher film behavior by smoking weed and engaging in sexual activities apparently oblivious to the danger lurking in the trees, even after hearing the unearthly howls in the distance. The two groups join up after the hikers are attacked in their camp by the beast. The two rangers then split up(again typical) and the guy heads off to track the beast while the girl tries to lead the remaining party back to their jeep. In a series of brief encounters with the beast, the party is whittled down to a few members, who in the midst of a dramatic pause, choose to rally and face off against the monster. The fight for their life is flawed by a series of blunders which only serve to draw out the last standoff and weed out the last two males in the group. The remaining two women finally manage to knock off the monster with the very last of the ammo. In the brief let down at the very end, they choose to leave the body for the scavengers because, of course, who would believe them.

Now its time to get ugly.

1. The dialogue in this was flat and seemed a little forced. The most interesting of the lot was the two rangers attempting to flirt amidst the discussion about what it was they were hunting. Other than that, it was lacking in real imagination.

2. They showed the werewolf way too soon. The first third of the film was great! A flash of fur here, a toothy grin there, and a really nice backlit silhouette. And then they let the cat out of the bag. What a letdown. And the closeups were slightly out of focus and overexposed, so the scenes were streaked with lights and blurry. (Is this supposed to make it scary?) See the pic in WolfMontana's post above.

3. On the topic of the werewolf, where do I begin? Head to toe I guess. The head and face looked like a wrinkled, pink alligator. Whomever did the makeup on this needs to realize that wolves have hair on their face as well. A little bit might have made the mask a bit more believable.
As for the body, it looked like a ghillie suit for Cher's closet. How many long wigs died in the making of this project? A couple of weeks more on the design of the fursuit would have made quite a difference.

Overall, I'm glad I rented this instead of buying. This is not one I would have chosen for my collection. But I had to see it to keep the percent of werewolf movies I've seen up. Its not one I'll be seeing again though.

Was it one of those dreams where your, like, standing on top of a temple in sungod robes with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?
Why am I the only one who has that dream?

Re: The Feeding: New Movie

I'm still waiting for this to hit the 'used DVD' bin at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video, but in the meantime it's a one dollar rental from CinemaNow
