Thankfully, I wasn't in High School yet. For once, I don't feel so old. Always remember the episode "All Hallow's Eve," because it is one of the few I caught back in the day (well, not totally on first airing, but when USA Network got ahold of it for a short time after). Particularly enjoyed seeing Eric walk into the abandoned house with the box of mock KFC. Being a KFC junkie, I always love depictions of werewolves that are equally addicted to the stuff. On the Canadian comedy series "Big Wolf On Campus," they did a whole episode about Tommy's addiction to a local chicken in a bucket take-out place.

Just had to say that the "pilot" episode was awesome for this TV series. John J. York and Chuck Connors were both very good in it. Chuck Connors' character was very disturbing in that episode. The transformations were excellent, great effects. The shadowing was really good too for effects. What you didn't see was as scarey as what you did see. This was a great series, if you can get your hands on the piolot (like on ebay), check it out if you can, but I don't know if there are any really great quality versions out there.

For people that used to watch Chuck Conners in The Rifle Man, Seeing him as Skorzy was doubly disturbing.

Believe it or not, there was merchandise for this show! Well, there was a comic book anyway. I've only seen photos of the issues online though. I'll definitely "yoink" them if I ever find them anywhere! Loved this show!

I have one of them (the first one). It was published by Blackstone, I think.

I just recently got my hands on the whole series cept for 1 ep. Wow, was it a blast going through them again - one of the best b'day presents I've ever gotten myself. It was actually much better than I thought it would be, it still holds up, and the werewolf effects, while sometimes 'guy-in-a-suit-ish', there's still stuff there that blows me away today! Sometimes the acting is a little limp, but there are some outstanding guest stars. And I love the good werewolf trying to fight the 'curse' angle.
(again though, just wish the werewolves mouths had closed, although they do slightly throughout the series, it wasn't till I watched the very last ep (Amazing Grace) that it seems they finally got it!)
Highly, highly recommended.
Not sure if the media enterprises will get you a better copy. I wish they'd come out and just do a legit DVD box. I would snatch it up in an instant.

I think it's high time somebody redid this series
And this time there wouldn't be the Incredible Hulk to make it seem like a copy!

For a horror movie loving kid the series really was something special, you're rigth WolfMontana, it was a hell of a lot like The Incredible Hulk, but it had a much better ongoing storyline with the whole Skorzy plot and c'mon...were-wolves are much cooler than big green guys. I have the comic books floating around here somewhere (probably next to those Fright Night comics), there was actually a 3-D version, which was pretty neat. The comicseries didn't last long though.
I remember towards the end of the TV series there was a nice little plot twist in there and things started to get pretty interesting with the whole Skorzy thing. Too bad they never officially ended it.
So far as two legged were-wolves go I think this was my second favorite design right next to the The Howling.
I'm thinking of getting that DVD set, but I know the second I buy it someone is going to announce an "official" box set....

I would really like to see an "official" high quality box set made too, that would be very cool.

Busboy, please read the topic on the Werewolf TV Series petition. Me and my friend are trying to get an official box set up and having everyone here at the Cafe read the link and sign could bring us closer to having that. Thanks.

They really were, very good I got a big kick out of the fact that their ears flicked back and forth. Mouth closing totally would be great, but eh The lips moved too, which was neat.

Who knows. The quality can be a little sucky at times, but it's soo worth it to revisit the series.

Hey there, I got some good news for everyone who's been a fan of the old Werewolf TV series:
The show will be officially released on DVD on September 1st.
I know this, because not only I've been in contact with those who've been working on this set for months, but I also helped contributing to some of the info for the set, in particular a brief description for each of the episodes.
From what I know, all of the episodes, including the 2 hour pilot movie, will be on the set. Plus there will be new interviews with some of the cast and crew as well.
As soon as I find out when orders for the set will be taken, I'll let you know.

Whoa! Serious? ....checks calendar.... well, it's not April 1st.
'Bout friggin' time.

Wow, I could,ve sworn I saw a british DVD box art years ago.
I always assumed that it came out and just never sold well enough but I guess that was just a fake cover art somebody created then.

Hehehe... is this the series which in the pilot episodes contains a scene where the main character greets the old lady neighbour who is called "Mrs. Manickindam"?
Me and my friend saw that first episode and we both laughed out loud at her name. Perhaps cause the name contains two swedish words that makes no sense together.

I already preordered the DVDs.

I've seen it on the Chiller channel but I haven't watched it because I want to see the pilot and everything and not jump in at the middle and get confused, lol. Anyways, I put the box set on my wish list
