Well the first Dobel Brothers (A Marvel imprint) episode of Anita Blake is out and, since it's an adaptaion of the first book (Guilty Pleasures), it's not tooterribly dirty (but it's sensuous as all get out - if I had a kid, I certainly wouldn't give them this for their birthday). The art is fantastic (but I never imagined Blake to be chalk white). It's a long wayto Blue Moon but there's Wererats in this arc. They're cute and cuddy enough.

For those who missed this...It's going into second prints with a new cover and Number 2 is out with a limited edition Print of Jean Claude

Cool, I need that one!

I have it at my comic store and that Jean poster is avaialble...although it is kinda more appropriate for the female gender just as a warning.
Love the comic itself. I hope to see later on Richard's apperance, aka Anita Blake's werewolf boyfriend/fiance.

I seem to only make it to the comic store about once a month anymore, but I've wanted this for the Brett Booth art. Everything else is icing on the cake!

It does take a little while to get used to the "romance" aspect of it...Brett Booth rocks though...even if it is lacey open chested shirts....(I can't believe I just typed that)

Just got the first two issues in the mail!

It was a little bent up, but no worries Dude, it didn't tear or anything like that.

Ah darn, that looks great.
But I don't think we will get that here in Germany, they only started to translate the books in German (Book 5 comes in January) so interest in a comic version won't be very high.
A damn shame that, I loved the early Anita Blake adventures when Hamilton was still more focused on the Gore level unfortunately the newer storys seem to go more and more down Porn road.
Guess I have to wait and see if they print a collected TPB version, makes no sense to order single issues.
Edit:
Just been looking through the sample pages, she's looking like a frigging Vampire in that comic, that teint would suit a Sonja Blue.
I like the impression of her done by Greg Horn.

Don't forget: The Lunatic Cafe, Killing Dance and Burnt Offerings will come before that. They all heve their share of Were-action, especially the first one

I'm definetely eager to see Lunatic Cafe. Which book did Jean-Claude first introduce Richard to Anita btw?

wow! They already got the Hardcover announced!

I was thinking Richard came in in the second book. Was that Lunatic Cafe? And I'm really not too fond of the Vampire look they gave Anita but, oh well, it's not my interprtation.
Is Bloody Bones before or after Blue Moon? It seems like it's after that that Anita starts getting kinky and I start loosing interest. Hmmmm....Obsidian would probably translate pretty well into a comic.

okay where are the werewolves? i just bought the trade paper back and the only werewolf i saw (from the issue) was in the cover issue. There were big rats I think, but no werewolf. what current issue are they on anyway. And how long is the series going on b/c i don't wanna subscribe to a years worth (what around 24 bucks) if it gets cancelled. I have had that happen and lost my money.

when's issue 7 out anyone?
Oh and let me just say, this is pretty cool how there are so many second adn third printings of these issues. How does that work anyhow? release 3000 and when those sell out really quickly get more? (how do you know there's a demand) just curious.
just bought the novel book (after getting the comic graphic novel) and wow I'm reading it it's great. Not really as r-rated as people rumored. There's a wererat that tries to like rub in between his legs hinting at Anita, who says he doesn't have jack down there. That was funny but I thought it was more like Anne Rice. it's pg13 so far.
thanks. and

okay just read the first novel book of "Guilty Pleasures". I bought the comic book tpb and it only had a pic of a werewolf (looked pretty cool) to show the world of the supernatural (pic had zombies, wererats, werewolves, and vampires in grey background).
So it'll probably be in issue 10ish when the werewolf shows up in the comic version (though he's only on the phone with her. may not show and unless flashback won't show wolf form) GREAT READ THOUGH. not x-rated as hyped nor did i find it R rated. Probably pg 13 (only hinted suggestions so)
