ya know...at 2 am Monday I saw a piece on Fact or Fiction about a fellow who was institutionalized because he thought he was a wolf..it was the night of a lunar eclipse and he had begged his doc to move him to a windowless room because he was afraid he would die...the young doc consulted with the older doc who said no.."If I conceded to all the requests here this place would really be a mad house". the young doc went back to the patient and told him the bad news...the patient was sure that he would die that night. The next morning, sure enough, the patient was dead...the young doc couldn't understand it and visited the patients room after he was taken to the morgue...upon closing the door he was horrified to find bloody claw marks upon the door...as if the patient were trying to claw his way out......
Now...you tell me...fact or fiction...

Best: Wolf, Blood Moon, The Wolf Man, Ginger Snaps, The Company of Wolves (yeah, that's a lot... but each fills a completely different role in the grand archetype that is the werewolf)
Worst: Darkwolf, Howling III: The Marsupials, Cursed
*ducks the incoming razzes for nominating Cursed as a crappy movie*
Offline
Worst: Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf takes the cake.

Hi Bloodfang85, I know we have other forums here related to these types of questions, so please feel free to look at the last few pages of the forum topics here and please feel free to revive any older topics (I like seeing old topics come back to the top of the list and get the rolling again), but I would have to say my werewolf movie favorites are "The Wolf Man," "The Howling 1" and "American Werewolf in London." My least favorite werewolf movies are "B" type werewolf films and "Dark Wolf."

I like "The Wolfman", "An American Werewolf in London" and "Teen Wolf"

Full Eclipse is pretty decent. It's a Mario Van Peebles action flick about a covert group who use a lycanthropy injection to become elite soldiers.
Wilderness is more or less a psychological thriller ripe with sexual innuendo. Just imagine Sigmund Freud writing a werewolf movie, and that's what you get.

I'll have to check on "Wilderness", Speedy. Sounds like my type of film that I could relate to as a good film. I've seen "Full Eclipse" and I really liked the ending - one of them was Mario checking the website for full moon appearances. LOL!
Okay, best movies:
An American Werewolf in London
Howling 1 & 2
Bad Moon
Underworld
Van Helsing
Curse of the Wolf
The Wolf Man
Full Eclipse
Dog Soliders
Ginger Snaps
Silver Bullet
A Company of Wolves
Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man
Teen Wolf 1 & 2
Full Moon High
Bad films:
Darkwolf (crappy CGs!)
Cursed (looking back, I feel that Wes could've made it more interesting - though nice CG effect on the transformation)
Howling 3 through the rest
An American Werewolf in Paris (why can't we just have David Naughton alive just for once and have him play the lead!) :x

Obviously the best I've seen are the first that I've seen which are in order: The Wolf Man, An American Werewolf in London, and The Howling.
Others I liked: Dog Soldiers, Underworld, Full Eclipse, Wolf, Van Helsing, Howling VI: The Freaks, Bad Moon, and Curse of the Wolf.
The Worst: Way too many to mention, cause I've seen a lot of them, mostly B-movie drecks, but off the top of my head I go with Dark Wolf, Wolves of Wall Street, Howling 3, 4, 5 and 7, and Cursed.

Tomb of the Werewolf was a T and W flick. The werewolfs were week and it really just looked like it would air on late night Skinimax after Lord of the G-Strings or the Bare Wench Project. Even with the boobs, it was a horrible movie.

i liked van-helsing, even though its not based on werewolves, and that answers my favorite werewolf too... worst werewolf movie, well that would have to be that stupid scooby doo, i saw my little cousin watching it, and im like...thats gay...

Most of those movies can be found by hunting the bargain bins.
Gotta love those $4.99 movies.

Well, I personally liked Underworld. It was kind of odd to have such a wierd looking werewolf, but they were aiming to the realism of it. In the commentary they stated that they didn't put fur all over the werewolf because they wanted to show the true archetechture of the model that they made for the movie, and the muscle formation and they felt that it would be unrealistic to have someone shapeshift and have instant fur all over them, and I felt it was a cool move, but I do feel they could have at least included a little bit more. Other than the werewolf costume, I think it was a good movie because of the fact that it's one of the first that has the werewolves as Beta, meaning they are not just mindless beasts, but they can change at will and control themselves as well, and I felt that was a good move. I just wish that they would show more of the werewolves, but that's always my biggest complaint in werewolf movies. As for my favorites and leasts...
Favorites: Dog Soldiers (Excellent premise and great performance.)
Van Helsing (not the best movie, but awesome werewolves)
Underworld (previously explained)
Least Favorites: Ginger Snaps 2 (the ending was so disgusting, worst ending EVER!)
Cursed (Why Wes?! Ahh! This movie ruined my relationship - truthfully)
Transelvania 1977 (I think that's the title, and the werewolf was so ugly, I could stoink)
