Be very careful. Some of the drug methods will certainly make you think you're a Werewolf before completely frying your synapses. I know a lot of born Werewolves but have never known anyone to "become" a Werewolf. I suspect certain kinds of brain damage might would simulate Therianism but I don't know if the result would be a true Werewolf and I'm pretty sure the Therianism wouldn't breed true.
As for blood hunger, I've never known of a Werewolf that had that. I like beef blood but I don't have any problems controlling that. I just make a rare staek with a batch of blood gravy and consume - and that ain't no joke.
As for human blood? Blah! Taste like it's had pennies dissolving in it. much prefer beef blood.
But my Vampire friends don't share my tastes, bbviously.

Well Tion, could you post a pic of yourself in wolf form or turning into a wolf?

I know a way you can sorta p-shift. If you get a picture of a werewolf and examine it for a while then close your eyes and imagine yourself changing into that form. When you open your eyes, you won't have changed physiccaly but you'll feel so much like a wolf that you won't realise, just act like a wolf then. Personnaly, my family dating back to my great grandad have had wolf dreams and used that method so i can pretty much say that i am a born werewolf. Wouldn't you think that?

This I gotta see.

Me, too.

Well, think about it, I could call myself a werewolf but that wouldn't make me one
I could say I'm a werewolf...course, I don't think you're lying. But I just wondered.

Certainly, but you can also be a werewolf and not even know it. A Werewolf isn't a Werewolf by trying to be one. They're a Werewolf because they already are one.
I won't say that a person can't p-shift, although I lean in that direction, but even if they can, I don't believe that that's the essential characteristic of a Werewolf, the lupine mentality is and I believe that that has a solid physiological basis and has a lot to do with the way the Temporal lobe is wired with the rest of the brain.

I can't hardly sleep anymore I am so attatched to wolves/werewolves. *Sighs*

*looks at Werewolf552's bed* Aha! A wolf plushie!

LOL
Well, Number 552, maybe that's just something you'll go through. If not, maybe you need to specialize in Wolf Biology or something to satisfy that "craving" in your life. You'd be amazed at how many people working in wolf preserves are Werewolves or Werecorvids or other assorted Werebeasties. (Generally, their coworkers don't know about that part of their life.)
Still, you gotta sleep or you get sick so, if it keeps up, see somebody about it.

now I'm not claiming to know anything about psycology, and as a general rule I don't give advice. But I will say this, don't obsess over this... it's not healthy really. its not a major issue, If your a werewolf awesome; hello my kin. however if you arn't a werewolf oh well so what, whats important is your love of the wolf/werewolf and of the moon and night, and all the other things like that... the answer will come, but forcing it isn't gonna work, it can only hurt you... just relax a little, OK?

Will try....actually I have a wolf plushie in my lap right now so no I'm not a plushie...

If you have a strong desire to become a werewolf, you could be an undiscovered wolf therian, just now discovering what the heck therianthropy is.
Alas, it's not about literal physical shapeshifting. That's the holy grail of the therianthropy movement, but most accept the logical assumption that for now it's impossible, though many of us hope that some future technology could make it come about. (It's one reason why I want to see humans overcome fear of genetic engineering on our own species.)
One can work with shapeshifting techniques, but these "shapeshifting" methods are again NOT LITERAL. They're metaphysical. But, they're a decent compromise, given the strict laws of physics imposed on us.
First is dream-shifting. It's probably the most vivid, being the closest to the real thing, since dreaming is a naturally occurring virtual reality that's often totally convincing. One must first learn to catch one's self in the act of dreaming, which is a skill in and of itself. Mastering that, however, gives you a number of other options and benefits as well. A big part of it is staying asleep and not waking up upon coming lucid. Then, visualizing shape-shifting can be tricky; too often I've found myself still in human form, just imagining. But, after awhile, once you've gotten in your mind a good sense of what having a wolf body entails (pun intended), you could eventually find yourself shifting automatically. (I've never been stuck in wolf form, but I have dreamed of shifting automatically, without thinking "hey, I'm lucid, so I'll try being a werewolf.")
If you're going by legends, another way is to sleep under full moon light. (More than once, I've woken up from a sound sleep to see the full moon poking through the window, so I'm covered.)

I think shapeshifting techniques are important for a serious reason. I believe that Therians pick up a lot of "human" behaviors as they grow up just in trying to fit in - often to the point that there's a human and a nonhuman "side" - bona fide split personality. I'm convinced that the "real" person is the Wereside and at some point, the Therian needs to get back to what he or she really is. Shapshifting techniques help get the "artificial self" out of the way.
But I don't think it really has to be that formal. All a Therian has to do is allow their Wereside to assert dominance and the whole thing happens pretty naturally. The problem comes when Therians are afraid of their Wereside and keep trying to fight it down.

That can be destructive. If you ask me, the "rapacious beast" steriotype comes from folks like us trying so hard to keep it under wraps that it comes out sideways. I heard that wolves will sometimes go on killing sprees right after hungry times, when their instincts were constantly thwarted.
