Re: Monthly Art Challenge

Hahahahaha, ok, in honour of the wonderful British narrative series including such famous tales as "The Hound of Baskervilles" and "The Sign of Four", and it's upcoming movie release late this month, the topic of December shall be:

A Winter Werewolf Mystery! (Feel free to throw in any allusions to the holidays, Holmes, or whatever else you can think of. It's up to you! smile)

In the words of wolfsong, Ready, Set, Go!!!! big_smile

Hahahahahaha, now that's up to you! smile It really can be anything, just however you want to take it. wink (If you have trouble of seeing how to approach it, it can help to look at how others have approached similar topics in the past, or you could wait and see what a couple of others do with it. wink BTW, how's everything going? Enjoying the cooler weather?)

Re: Monthly Art Challenge

It's alive!

I can imagine some idea forming for this, as soon as I get a grasp on the details (and find sometime when I'm not pushed into more important things), I'll make something.

Re: Monthly Art Challenge

Heh, thanks smile
It was really fun to do. One day full of layouting, sketching (and, for some reason, the head seems to look better in the sketch than here...), and after that careful execution.

I just realized it was the first picture I did that has a more "serious" subtone too.

Re: Monthly Art Challenge

Ok, without further ado, the topic for January is... *crazily long and dramatic drum roll* What Werewolves dream about!!!!

So snatch a piece of paper, pull out that dusty canvas, or just start using all your fancy techno computer software and show us what you come up with! big_smile

As usual, the deadline for submissions will be the end of the month and the new topic will be posted on the first. wink

If you'd like to suggest and idea for a future topic, please feel free to e-mail me and I'll take those into consideration! Important note though, if you do e-mail me, please be sure to put "Monthly Art Challenge" in the subject or else I won't read it! Also, don't be offended when I don't respond (for privacy issues, I don't want to reply and expose my address), but I shall let you know that I received your message on here. smile

With that, have fun with it, and I'm looking forward to seeing what ya'll can come up with! big_smile

Re: Monthly Art Challenge

Guidelines? Like a grid placed on the paper to draw, or following an elements of style?

Re: Monthly Art Challenge

That's like a compleatly different language to me. I mean perspectives, drawing circles for the hands and face and then advancing on that.

Not really. I tend to draw quick sketches and then improve them till they are cleaned up. I have not used the technique that you describe in the process though.

Re: Monthly Art Challenge

Jumpin str8 in the deepend eh? Well that's what I used to do but I could never get the hands and feet rite untill I used guide lines. Rite now, what werewolves dream about. Hmmmm, this one is quiet difficult.
