Yup yup yup. Still, I wish we could bend the universe and get more Being Human episodes at the same quality! wink

Re: Being Human - British

WAIIITTTTT SO THIS ISN'T WHAT I SAW THEN. Did the beginning explain how they met the girl (ghost)???? I keep missing the first 30 minutes. But what I saw was the werewolf being picked up by his friend (vampire) somehow they got to the apt. and took it not knowing there was a ghost.

Is that in the 30 minutes or was I originally watching the pilot?

Re: Being Human - British

Just caught the first episode on demand. The werewolf effects are nice - no CGI! - the young actors are charismatic, and I got a laugh out of the werewolf's inability to find an unoccupied stretch of woods to transform in, but the wangst was a bit of a turn off. Not enough to make me stop watching, though. Good job overall.

I LOVE this show. It's funny and scary and dramatic. You really relate to the characters in this show and you gotta love George, the werewolf of the group. The stories are great too.

Re: Being Human - British

I started watching the episodes over again and noticed Tully's cameo this time around in the first episode.  It gave that scene a whole new read, one with some very sinister overtones.  smile

ooooooooooooooooo, <as sounded like Boo>, ummm I just saw the latest episode and fell asleep. They're gonna have to work on the ghost story aspect of it, I couldn't sit through and hour and a half. I dozed after 20 minutes.

I wish the werewolf guy would stop screaming like a girl every time he started changing.

You're like 25 dude. Enter puberty already.

Re: Being Human - British

I think it's pretty cool actually, works with the character (he comes across as a bit of a wuss) and it also makes it sound like it hurts like hades.

The actor will probably get very sick of screaming however, and they might switch it up regardless wink

Re: Being Human - British

I also wish the little girl screaming would not have been an option.  I was pretty satisfied that David's character in American Werewolf in London was in a good amount of pain, yet he maintained a very masculine/bestial ambience.  This guy's screaming really takes me out and ruins the scene, for me, at least.

Re: Being Human - British

Good news for those who haven't seen the show or want to see it again, BBC America is re-airing the entire first season of the show (all six episodes) in a marathon Monday (Sept. 21) from 11am to 5pm Eastern.

Re: Being Human - British

The gorram Syfy channel is going to remake an "Americanized" (read: shitty) Being Human. CRIPES!!!!! Why not just re-air the original series? Why must they destroy everything of beauty?

Re: Being Human - British

I'd watch it.  The BBC show is certainly great, but I'd be interested to see a version with a bit more Americanized punch and less subtlety, assuming it's made that way.  It's clear that Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Supernatural had a strong influence on the production values, wit, and humor of Being Human, but I never felt like series 1 of the original pushed the envelope as far as it could have.  The ghost sub-plots were rather dull imo, though I am looking forward to seeing what they do with George in series 2, now that he's had a taste for blood.

More werewolves = good, I think, even if the end result is rendered poorly.  smile

Yes, but then you'll get a monster-squadron-buffy-a-like instead of three non humans trying to "live" with the problems of their new condition... precisely the "leifmotiv" from the series.

Re: Being Human - British

The theme of non-humans trying to live with the problems of their new conditions has already been visited plenty of times in the shows I mentioned, and other film/tv productions before that.  Putting all three characters together is the primary gimmick, and it's a lot of fun to watch, but I hope they spend more time with the next series figuring out better ways to keep the audience on their toes than resorting to psychotic-fiance-ghost-drama.  The best character on the show by far is George because he's pulled in so many directions with conflict, has no control over his condition, and is more vulnerable than the others.  It makes the episodes where he's less featured feel more like filler.
