Fallen Moon, Risin Love

The sun's rays were bright and warm, the wind pulled and tugged against Shaiya's clothing, pulling her black T shirt tight against her body and leaving her hair flying in the air. Shaiya giggled with a large smile as she walked down the sidewalk of her town. Trees all over the city danced and swung with the wind, the creaks in tune with the song that was nature. Shaiya spun once, twice, three times as she walked. Her short black hair whirled up, her full mouth couldn't smile more then she was now. She giggled as she thought, "Gotta stop before I get too tired", she resumed her walking. Her baggy shorts flapped with the wind and her flip-flop's smacked the back of her foot as she walked. Her house wasn't far now, Shaiya had just been on one of her jogs when her mom had called, dinner was almost done.

Shaiya stopped in front of the wooden fence that surrounded the house. The house wasn't large but it wasn't small. They had decided on light blue when they had moved here, her mother's favorite color. As Shaiya's hand fell on the fence door to open it, a gust of wind whipped up and tried to tilt her head, making her hair flare up and point. Shaiya looked up, the wind was blowing hard on her back toward the mountains at the edge of town, her hair and loose cloths flapping in the same direction. A tingle ran in her chest, her toes had a warmth that crawled up her legs and then, the feeling slowly was gone with the wind. Trees filled the horizon of the mountain, the mountain itself was large and steep in some places. "What.." she said, she had felt something. There was something in the woods, "It couldn't be...". A dark thought tugged at her mind but she brushed it off, it was probably one of the faey.

A reddish blur ran past tree after tree. The wind sped past it as it flung itself faster and faster toward the town. "Gotta get away!" Sky thought as he ran, all fours raking up dirt, leaves, and stone as he hurled forward. All of it still in his head, how could he forget any of that? "Damnit!" He cursed in his thoughts...why had this happened? His eyes were yellow and a small shade of green that flashed, darting to find a faster route. Sky's lean body was covered in red fur, his mouth was jutted out to be a muzzle. His arms were corded with muscle as was his whole  body. His tail whipped behind him, longer then his arm but barely and tipped with black. Sky stopped, his paws sliding on leafs slightly as he tried to hear anyone near, no one. Sky lifted up his muzzle and looked through a gap in the trees. A town was ahead, perfect. A heat filled him from his paws to his stomach and left just as fast. "Uh...ok then." confused but somehow his spirits were slightly up-lifted. His furry body took off once again toward the town, perhaps this town would hold a new beginning, a rebirth from his old one.

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

A very captivating beginning, to be sure. One happy life, and one frantic, and both with aspects beyond the normalcy of the reality we all cope with.
Needless to say, this is definitely an attention-getter. Your use of descriptive language with Shayia's walk and Sky's run were very vivid.
I agree with Greaver - can't wait for more!

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Sky broke from the light fog of the mountains into the clear air close to town, not a wolf but a rakish teen. His dark red hair was combed back with figures and still messy, his body didn't have the muscle he had as a wolf, but he had lean muscle none the less. His skin was tanned but fair, his shoulders were slouched as usual but filled with tension, his whole body was...had been. The closer he had come to the town, the more calm he had seemed to become. Now the horror he had felt was a bad memory from long ago, a agitating feeling in his gut. His skin didn't feel grimy or limp anymore, he had run for days. In fact, he felt like he had run half of what he had, very odd.

Sky looked himself over, this wouldn't do. He was naked, since a wolf couldn't wear cloths. He crouched slightly, he had to find some cloths so he didn't stand out so much. The edge of town was marked with stones that surrounded the whole town except on the road that entered the town. He bent down closer to have a look at one of the stones. Each stone was small but seemed firm to the ground. The stones also seemed to have one symbol on them each, thats what he thought until he looked over at the next one a couple yards from this one. It had two symbols, put right next to each other. He could feel a tingle as he drew closer to them, or was it just getting cold? He shook his head, stones with markings on them, well this would be an interesting town.

Shaiya finished up her snack of a dinner. They were not going to eat much, they still needed to save room for the food later. The celebration was close to happening, spells for happiness and protection and good fortunes had been set all over town. Today, would be a wonderful day of new things. Today was the celebration of Beltane, the time where the God was mature and wanted the Goddess. The magic was all around Shaiya, it was in everything. The air vibrated with the positive energies that flowed, life was here, and they were going to celebrate it. A tingling sensation filled Shaiya's body, she shivered. "Again..." She thought, "Im going to have to tell ma." She didn't want to trouble her mom but she knew her ma wouldn't be happy if she didn't tell her....then if it happened again, it would be all her fault..again.

...and yet even more curiosity: Shapeshifting creatures losing their memory as they approach mystic human towns protected by runes and spells...

..and Shayia seems to have a secret that must be told, but the subject brings her to a point of hesitation. It only adds interest to the reader as to what may be causing her such detriment on the eve of this celebration.

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Shaiya kicked off her sandals and her feet slapped on the kitchen tile as she walked to the fridge. "Hey Shay" Her mom called Shaiya's nickname over her shoulder, her voice filled with joy and care. Shaiya pulled out of the fridge, OJ in her hand. She let the fridge door close and looked at her mom, her back was toward Shaiya and she was cleaning dishes. Her mother was beautiful, her hair was jet black like Shaiya's, her arms were skinny but could embrace deeply. Her mother twisted around and smiled with one corner of her mouth, "And what, little lady, are you staring at?" she laughed while she held a cup in her hand and a wash cloth in her other. Shaiya smiled big and said, "Just my beautiful mother!" she couldn't keep her laughter down as it came out. She couldn't help it and neither could her mom, laughter was in the air and it was wonderful. "So whats up darling?" asked her mother as she went back to washing. Shaiya's smile lessened and she sat down at the wooden, stained table next to the fridge. "Just..." Today was Beltane...she really couldn't ruin it for her mother.."Nothing ma, it's nothing" she said into the jug of OJ as she took a swig. Her mother chuckled in response. "Forgive me..." She said in her heart.

The sky was now getting dusk just barely as Sky walked the streets of the town. People were really friendly here. He had tried to sneak up and steal some clothing from the back of a house but before he had even sauntered onto their yard the front door had opened and a young couple had invited him in. They had given him some extra clothing and tried to feed him, he had left in a hurry though. He needed the clothing, but the people were just odd. Who let a stranger into their house? It was normal for wolves because as a pack they trusted each other, but these were humans and he was new here. The people had given off a feeling of trust and a want to help him out even though they did not know him. This was too odd for Sky but he shook it off. They had gotten rid of one problem, and now he could solve his others. People would come from their houses and onto the streets, going back and forth between houses laughing and joking.  This town..was just odd. Why were the inhabitants so happy and trusting? Sky shook his head and walked down the side walk with his head down looking at the paved walk, these people wouldn't survive where he had come from. But these people..whenever he came close to one of them he felt at ease...like he had never felt before with a human. What was the meaning of this? He would find answers but..he couldn't forget why he had come here and what he was running from.

The wind picked up and blew the leaves on the ground up into the air, letting them dance gracefully. Sky lay on his back staring at the sky. The grass tickled his ear as he just layed there and thought. The sidewalk had led him to a park in the town, the swing set and slide had been made by hand he had seen. "This whole place...just seems..so much like a pack." He admitted in his head, "Everyone trusts each other..they seem to band together..and it seems the town is completely self dependent. Very odd but..very right." He could admit that he liked it here already. He would stay here a couple days, then he would have to take off again. Already memories flooded his brain but were lesser on the impact this time. It was like the wound in his soul was slowly healing a bit, but he knew deep inside that it wouldn't ever totally heal. The wind was the only interruption in the silence until some type of singing floated into Sky's ears.

The chant was too far away to hear but it grew stronger, he listened more and the song seemed to be more of a chanting. His ears perked toward the sound and Sky's body tensed up instantly, perhaps he would get answers now. The chanting was coming from the center of town. Sky picked himself up and strode toward the middle of town in his jeans and unbuttoned long sleeve shirt that displayed his muscled chest. Shoes had been left out of the extra cloths deal from the young couple, they had apologized but he had no trouble, he was usually bare foot anyway. The chanting grew louder and louder as he walked with his hands in his pockets, he looked up sensing something and saw a younger girl, about sixteen from the look of it, walk out of a house and yelling goodbyes to someone on the inside. She was beautiful, her body was slime and curvy, her shirt was colorful and enthralling as it clang to her. Her light-brown shorts looked cute on her since she was a shorter girl but too mature to be young, her short, black hair danced with the wind just as the leafs and grass had. She was beautiful and so....naturally perfect to him. The teasing thought of approaching this creature was halted when her head looked up as she started walking toward her fence and saw Sky, staring at her. "Oh Mother Moon.." he prayed.

Very interesting, and still very visual.
And so the chance meeting arrives; somewhat awkward for him perhaps, but how will she respond?

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

I liked how you described the mother, that was quite vivid, and the analogy of the town being like a pack was really great.  One question in the last paragraph, "her body was slime and curvy" do you mean slim and not slime?  Other than that, great addition!

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Shaiya's eyes traveled up and down the boy. She couldn't help notice his shirt open, displaying his chest muscles, a chill went up her spin. His clothing seemed to just hang on him, like they were more constricting then anything to him. His skin was tan, his hair seemed wild whipping around in the air. He was a picture of wild beauty. Shaiya suddenly remembered she had to get moving, the celebration was starting. "Is he on his way?" She thought, "Hmm...I do need a dancing partner...". Inside her chest she felt a deepness open up and made her grin mischievously. She let her eyes meet his and felt a chill as she noticed how yellow his eyes were, so unusual but so mystifying. She let her inner smile broaden at him and then let it shrink to a small smirk as she walked toward the gate.

Her smile seemed to bring a warmth to him and a flutter to his chest. "Girl, your working magic on me" He joked in his head. Sky saw the girl start walking toward the gate and found his own feet doing the same. "Well hello stranger" she said, her voice was like wind shims striking ethereal notes in the wind. He could feel his body somehow relax, but also become anxious. "Hey" he said, he just couldn't think of anything to say! What was wrong with him? He wasn't a pup, he had been with his share of females before, why was he hesitating so? The thought was brushed away gently but firmly when he heard her laughter that filled his chest with a tingling feeling, "Hey?" She giggled, "Well I spose I shouldn't expect more from one dressed in such a care free outfit as yourself." Her eyes were filled with mischief and amusement, her face seemed to be illuminated even though the only lights were from the houses, which, one by one, were going out now. He looked down the street and saw the candles being blown out and the lights being turned off. He looked back at her and there she stood, meeting his gaze with a smile and amused eyes. "Whats going on?" popped in his head and out his mouth before he could think.

Shaiya's gaze never left him, he was magnificent and beautifully wild looking. It was in his voice to, there was no missing it, he was something that couldn't be seen by eye alone. "But thats how life goes thank Goddess" She thought. "You want to know whats going on?" she asked. Her hand reached and softly grabbed his, a shiver went through her as they touched. "Come on, Ill show you" She said over her shoulder as she laughed and started running, pulling him along playfully. She could feel him come with her and felt her heart race, tonight would be one of the best Beltanes ever.

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Sky was surprised by this girl's speed. They were now running down the street, the wind was flapping at their fronts and pulling their cloths tight, her hand around his. Sky noticed something, his breathing was growing faster, not because he was tired, but he was getting this feeling inside him...excitement over something. He was actually feeling butterflies in his stomach. Was he sick? No, it was this girl, her hand seemed to radiate a warmth that was flowing deep into him down to the marrow. This feeling, he hadn't felt it since he had gone on his first hunt. He remembered, his mother had let him go off with the hunt, he had learned so much that night and he had been so happy for it. Thats what he felt now, something stirring inside him. He could feel the wolf inside stir, it wanted to run, to dance, to feel it's mother moon on his back. He found that he was no longer being dragged behind, but keeping pace with this girl and was laughing, actually laughing! "Whatever you are doing girl, keep it up!" He thought, joy was all around him, he could feel something deep and strong blowing all around him, in the air, in the earth, in the breath he took. Sky looked down into the girl's eyes, he saw the same joy and happiness, he also saw something else, it was regret of some sort, one that he himself felt a ping of from days ago.

Shaiya saw his pace grow, his feet seemed to fly across the pavement, he was fast! But what she really saw was that his movements were agile and fluent like he was made for running. She looked up and her eyes fell onto his, the flash of yellow sent shivers through her body. Town's center was close, she could feel the pulsing energy and from the waves of excitement coming from her new friend, she could tell he could to. They turned a corner on the side walk and there it was. Fires reached into the sky as people of all ages danced around them with smiles on their faces and glee in their hearts. Small fires were put in a circle surrounding a large pole that many streamers hung from. Chanting was everywhere, magic was in the air and in every bud of essence. The chants were filled with praises to the Goddess, the God, in hope and love. The trees around town sounded with creaks and the whipping of branches as they too danced with the rhythm all around them. She looked up into the boy's eyes, "Well?" She asked with a smile she couldn't contain, "This is what's going on!" She laughed, "Love".

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

The swelling of emotion and spirit swamred over Sky as he stepped closer, being pulled into the inferno of soul and fire. He could feel emotions, alote of emotions that were not his. Then Sky's eyes were filled with wonder, he was feeling what everyone around him had felt, was feeling. Triumph over a inner demon, he felt for a long moment he himself was the one that had but then it was gone. Then, a rushing of power, of feeling, a connection to something larger then Sky could comprehend. This one, this one was important he was lost in it but it went and was replaced with another. Anticipation, that one he felt, glee and joy, he remembered feeling like this with his own pack. He could feel these feelings and memories sink into his being from his surroundings. Over the roar of what was flowing into him he looked down at the girl, "Love for what?" he said a bit loudly, the roar of emotions and feelings made him feel like he was in a room filled with loud music.  Her face filled with something like the pride of a teacher, "Life!" She giggled and pulled him close and into the wave of people that danced and danced around the fire and streamers. "This is all..." He was at a lost for words, no word could explain it. Large doors had been opened, and he, an ant in size, had this ocean fall from the doors and unto him.

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Sorry about the wait - had to catch up.

Your descriptions are very fluid, and culminate the emotion of the events vividly. Granted, the paragraph structure is a little restrained, but that can easily be taken care of in later drafts. As it is, I think it's obvious you're focusing on the feelings portrayed, and getting that part down solid.

Nice work, Wolf!

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Colors flashed and adrenaline flowed, they were living. His feet moved and followed the people around him, the rhythm came to him instantly. His body was twisting this way and that. He felt the wolf inside stir and dance along with him. A streamer fluttered by and his hand caught it, not knowing what to do with it he looked down to the girl. She giggled at him and pushed him forward and they danced around the large poll along with everyone else. The fire's warmth filled him when he wasn't even near it, he could feel the winds embrace and not shiver, the trees all creaked along with the dance.

Shaiya chanted along with everyone, the boy seemed oblivious to the chanting or he thought it was singing. "Well it is" she corrected herself, laughing. The chanting grew faster and louder, magick was rising and flowing. They were chanting the many names of Her, the Goddess, the mother of all happiness, love, and life. The crowd flung their hands up and as did Shaiya. The wind was sucked upward to the sky like a vacuum. The spell complete, she let herself be lost in the music and dance.

Sky was suddenly aware of a presence, it was over looking almost. It felt light, but making itself known. He felt himself tense against it, his dance losing rhythm. The girl must have noticed because he felt her hand on his shoulder, she twisted him around and as his thoughts became technical again, calculating what the presence was he felt soft lips upon his own. He felt a buzz of electricity zap through his lips and into his spine, his body was a lightning rod. They both pulled away slowly and her gaze was on his, she laughed again, wind chimes, and she led him to dance once more, her hand wrapped around his. He threw his head back and howled, there was no holding it back. He could feel it as his body jumped to the beat and his feet spun to the tune around him. His vision became a blur, flashes of warmth and the girls sweet tasting lips filled his head. The presence no longer was far away but next to him, inside him, it was Sky. When he made the attempt to know what it was again, he was given a flash of a beautiful maiden, then it was gone.

Shaiya danced with her soul, other Beltanes had been fun but this one was different. They were free! Free from so many things they were never free from back home. And he was here, this boy whose movements from the wild. He was new to this she knew, but he was made for it. His eyes, thats how she could tell. Every time they met in dance, their eyes locked and she could see it in him, the Goddess. Shaiya could feel her presence to and let it come freely.  As she passed him again  she spun next to him and then leaned close to whisper, "Shaiya" and spin away teasingly. The sensations around her took her, and she let it become her movements.

Now Sky was dancing again, with many people. The girl broke through the wall of humans that surrounded him and jumped into his dance syncing in. Next his nose was in her hair, his fingers twisted with hers, her body was soft and comforting to his touch and kiss. He was sitting down on a pick neck table that had been dragged out, along with others, into the town square, his eyes on the girl, "Shaiya" he whispered to himself. She was dancing and laughing with an older women, a women who looked alote like Shaiya. He was dancing with her once more, their feet bouncing on the ground, their gazes never leaving each other.

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Looks like your latest post slipped past me - sorry about that.

This is an interesting post, mostly due to your descriptions. With how you describe the happenings, it's obvious that the characters are in a blissful state as they continue the celebration; it's almost hypnotic, in a way, and both characters are overwhelmed by the ecstasy of the event. It has a pull to it that even the reader can feel.

Of course, events like this cannot last forever,so it will be interesting to see how Sky and Shayia continue their budding relationship after the celebration.

  Keep it coming, Wolf!

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

{Good catch Grayle!}

The scene was beautiful. Animals throughout the forest made sounds of love making and celebration. This was Beltane, the beauty of life growing, becoming. A fallen branched cracked beneath a heavy boot and was ground into the dirt. The boot was connected to some roughed up and faded blue jeans. Above the blue jeans was a black undershirt that was barely visible through the black trench coat. A arm curled into the man's chest as he creped, the other holding a bible. The man's face was covered in the shadow cast by his old style, short top hat except for his eyes, they were a bright copper with furrowed brows. The man halted and slowly brought up his hand to motion the forty people behind him to halt. The large group halted and looked at him, one of them stepped forward and knelt down with the man as he examined a mark in the road.

"Are we close father?" The man who had stepped forward asked, "Are you sure we have to do this? I mean...I saw what you saw, we all did but do we really have to-" the man was cut off by a hand that flew up to cover his mouth. "Of course I am Peter" The priest whispered in a harsh voice. "Those...creatures will not listen to the word of God..and as you said, we all saw them. They were beasts." The man called Peter tried to argue but was cut off again by the movement of the hand again. "That is that Peter. Unless you wish to return to your farm?" Peter winced in thought of his slaughtered animals. "Thats what I thought, now get ready, the Devil's nest is just ahead." the priest said with a smirk that no one saw. As he rose the group all stood and were ready instantly. They slowly moved through the forest to the town ahead.

Shaiya swung once more with the boy and with laughter, she spun away to meet with her mother again. "He is quite a dancer" Laura, Shaiya's mother chuckled to her daughter as Shaiya sat on the bench with her. "Yes he is!" Shaiya agreed with a large smile. "I've never met anyone who could jump like him! And did you hear him sing yet? It sounds like-" she was interrupted, "Howling?" Laura asked with a smirk, "Yes hunny, he sounds like a beautiful wolf singing." Shaiya slapped at her mother teasingly. She was bringing up old stories again she used to tell and Shaiya was too pumped to hear of stories. "What?" yelled her mother as she dodged flinging hands, "He does! You were about to say so yourself!" Shaiya sighed, "I suppose, but don't feed that to your story telling. He is obviously human, no matter how wild he looks." she added. A tingle sent shivers down her spine, the feeling was a alarming feeling. Her senses shot out of her like a web to search for what had alarmed her so, but whatever it was was gone. With a shrug she looked over and smiled at her equally troubled mother, with a spin Shaiya dived into the dancing.

Soooo... a sinister antagonist on a self-righteous crusade, on the trail of what he considers an abomination (of sorts), about to find a community that also follows a different way of thinking that what he is willing to tolerate. Interesting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but stories and traditions would be a strong part of this community and it's beliefs, right? It just seems a little strange that Shaiya would so quickly and summarily discount her mother's stories, if that makes sense. Still, she is a teenager, and there's got to be some sort of rebel attitude or disbelief to make the character seem real to the reader (unfortunately).

Even so, this segment adds a conflict and a challenge to the storyline. It will be very interesting to see where you take it from here!

Keep it coming, Wolf!

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

{Grayle! What would I do without you? Lol! You bring up a big point and don't worry, it's all part of the plan...bwahahaha..hahahaha! *cough cough*...ha...}

Sky could feel it all swirl around him. No matter what he felt, the next second it was better and new somehow. His muscles tingled and his skin crawled, his wolf was getting anxious. His dance changed slightly, his limbs became limp, swinging almost. Sky hunched over a little, he could feel it, the wolf was coming but....it wasn't a bad thing. He wasn't a bad thing, evil, or wrong. He could feel the connection with himself and the others, strong, loving, and accepting. His head looked up into the skies and howled, his body rippling in ecstasy. His muscles bulged slightly now, his teeth longer and more sharp, his hair shaggy and hanging from his head past his shoulders. He looked up into the eyes of the dancers around him and howled again. The chant changed slightly, like a new part of the song had been reached. With a twist and a push, Sky launched himself up high and danced.

Shaiya danced past her friends and family, all alike, dancing and loving one another together in this beautiful celebration. She laughed as she was spun by a good friend whom had used to help her pick apples when they were small. Catching herself she looked for the boy. She saw what looked to be his hair flinging past, then it was gone. Where ever he was, he was dancing and loving this, she giggled and let her feet beat the ground with the others. When he found his way to her they would dance again. A loud explosion crashed Shaiya's rhythm and feeling in her body for a second. Looking up Shaiya saw a women gasp and shriek in fear and protest. The clicking of metal was heard and everyone silenced themselves. Every eye darted toward the shadowed men with the guns pointed straight at them, then at the man in the black trench coat and the bible. The man gave a large smile and shouted to the men behind him, "Children of our Lord, look what we have found! Witches! And look! They have housed this beast! The very same type that butchered your brethren and friends and your animals!"His grin fadded slowly as his words sank into the people behind him and into the people around Shaiya. "What!?" Shaiya thought, "What the hell is he...talking about?" Her thoughts raced and her heart thumped hard against her chest. Where was the boy? Was he safe?

"My friends!" the priest yelled to the people behind him, "These are the heathens of this day and age!" Some shouts of approval was heard but not many. "What of the beast? What if they house more? My family..what shall we do?" He flipped through his book for a second, then, with a small quirk of an ironic smile, he said in a quite voice that everyone heard, "Though shalt not suffer a witch to live". The people behind him all of a sudden were shaking, they all shouted together and a loud bang was heard, then another, and another.

Sky could feel the cold silver that had left the priest's gun in his chest. It did not sizzle like in the Hollywood movies, his skin didn't erupt on impact from the silver, but he was shot. A women screamed behind him as he fell to one knee. The priest said things that for some reason wasn't comprehended by Sky. Looking up he saw a blurry face looking down into a book in hand, then, loud shots where heard over and over again. "Damnit!" Sky yelled inside his head. This wasn't right, just..not right. Sky picked up his head to look at others and saw people fall to the ground around him, it was happening again. Sky was on his feet and off. He twisted around and in his head a loud alarm that was shouting, "Shaiya, where is Shaiya!?" A boy about his age dropped right in front of Sky and lay limp. Jumping over the corpse, Sky could feel it, if he wasn't out of here soon..."Murderers!" A yell was heard and then silenced by loud bangs.

Shaiya couldn't think, everything was going too fast. Bang, another friend was dead. Falling to her knees, forgetting the danger of this, she just sat there. This wasn't right, this isn't how it is supposed to be! This was just like last time...her fault. A weight fell against her and shook her, it was Laura. "Shaiya! We need to go!" Laura insisted, "We need t-" another bang was heard and the her mother's shaking stopped. Shaiya looked up shakily and saw held her mother in her arms as the weight fell into them. All your fault.... Shaiya shook her head violently, "No! This..this isn't right!" A small squeeze on Shaiya's arm silenced her, her sobs now gasping. "Shaiya..hun, its ok." Her mother counseled weakly with that smile, the same smile she used when reading a story. "The wolf Shaiya...remember what the wolf means.." her mother coughed and looked up into Shaiya's eyes. "No...Mom!" Shaiya pleaded, her eyes stinging. She couldn't help it, her tears fell on her mother's face. "Go Shaiya, go with the wolf" Her mother went limp in her arms and Shaiya fell over her mother's body gasping for breath. An arm looped under her stomach and hauled her up from the ground. The arm was corded but lean along with the person connected to it.

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Interesting - so both Sky and Shaiya have a dark past that they both feel is now repeating.

The chaos brought by the intruders really broke up the scene well. I also noticed you used onomatopoeia in a few places; you might want to be careful how often you choose to use it, however. Just something to keep in mind. I enjoyed the tension that this development brought about.

The final comments from Shaiya's mom were rather intriguing also; adding a bit of foreshadowing to the story.

Well done, Wolf!

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

*resurects old story*

All Sky could hear was his breathing, and a dull ringing that made everything go away. He was in a dream, no a nightmare. The woods were dark, gunshots were faintly heard through Sky's stupor as he ran. He held Shaiya close to his chest, forgetting the wound that was there. Shaiya's body shivered violently, but she gave no protest to him holding her or carrying her. Sky wouldn't have realized it if she had. The moon was the only light that showed above, blue aura floating down and settling upon his body as Sky ran from this curse that he just couldn't wake from.

Shaiya wrapped herself around the large frame that had encompassed her, surrounded her, and took her away from her home..her friends, her family...her mother. "Mother" the word rang out in her mind, Laura was still back there, with those men with guns and dead family. She was dead, gone but not in the way meant for her. She knew her mother had deserved better, was supposed to have died old and peacefully. Laura hadn't hurt anyone or tricked anyone, Shaiya's guilt twisted in her gut like a fresh knife wound. "Laura..mother.." she said, her voice not audible as the wind combed her body and hair. The person who carried her, Sky, Shaiya couldn't think about what he was doing. He was carrying her away from all she knew, but every time the idea she would have to get away from him, it disappeared and thoughts of her mother came into her mind. So, by bare instinct, Shaiya clung to the arm that held tight...like it wouldn't ever let go and fell asleep in his arms.

Re: Fallen Moon, Risin Love

Welcome Back, Wulf!

A curious continuation. You focused on the thoughts and feelings of the two individuals, and you bring out those feelings well. The action is implied, but it is not the subject. it worked rather well for the scene.

I understand the necessity of describing the escape as you did, but a few of your sentences were a little repetitive - or should I say, 'seemed' to be repetitive. It's clear that your intention was to explain how Sky felt a disembodied experience, as if his instincts took over his body functions and he was watching from the sidelines. It's just a little more indirect than it needs to be, if that makes sense. Not a biggie, though - it would be easy enough to rewrite it in later drafts if you decide it needs attention.

There weren't any spelling errors that glared out at me, and you had a decent pace for the thoughts of your characters.

Good continuation, Wulf, and welcome back to the stories area!
