I'm so glad they've gotten a new director for New moon (or Twilight 2, whichever they're calling it now) because Twilight was a major let down. Even considering Stephenie Meyer was just acting out her fantasies in book form, I still would have liked to see a decent vampire/werewolf movie; they're sadly lacking at the moment
Not that there were much opportunities to have them in 'twilight' without rewriting the book. :p
Should be interesting to see what 'new moon' brings, the good thing is that book contains so much filler that they should have no problem to size it down to movie format.

well do u think they'll be able 2 make breaking dawn a movie cause if they do man it's going 2 b long.
Offline
they could just break it into two moives.

When I heard that they actually included the "See my sparkle!" scene of 'twilight', which was a terrible idea, in the movie I lost all hope although early teasers didn't look that bad apart from the "We are the vampire-squirrels" pictures they had already released (I mean really, what they are up to? Does Edward turn out to lead a secret live as Squirrl-Scout?). I still intend to watch it, 'twilight' (the book) had some scenery I really liked, e.g. when Jacob appears and we get the whole Quileutes vs. Cullens story and he builds his crush on her.
I didn't like Jacob much anymore after Eclipse but he is the only character that has at least a reason for being in love with Bella.
If they go and include the 'I hear Edward talking in my head for no aparent reason other than schizophrenia' in 'new noon: the movie' I probably start screaming.

I finally got out to see the movie, I thought it was good, if there is a sequel, then maybe Jacob's werewolf character will get played up. It was cool to see Stephanie (the aurthor) doing a cameo in the movie (she's a really nice person, I've met her before when the book first came out). Anyone going to the "Twilight" convention next month? (one of my best Friends is going to it)

Stephanie was in the movie? Who'd she play?
Offline
Yeah, I didn't see her until someone mentioned that she was in it. It musta been a really short cameo.

She was the girl at the counter in the restaurant with the laptop computer, she was literally on screen for under 5 seconds, so it was a short cameo. She's extremely nice. She signed her "Twilight" novel for me when it first came out and when she was still doing book signing tours. She knows about the site here, as we talked about it years ago, in fact she may have even been on it.

I think New Moon can be dope, they seem to have planned things out well (Summitt Ent) but I don't know CG needs to be worked on as of now if they're going ot have cool werewolves. i think it's gonna be like giant sized wolves (boooo to that) but hopefully not

The ending was WAYYYYY COOL I LOST MY BREATH WHEN I SAW JACOB WITH HIS SHIRT OFF!!!!!! I wonder if they are purposely being corny and bad acting (Bell and Edward's scene) b/c that last clip made up for the bad acting (or at least not believable) Can't wait though.

I'm sure this is late but the trailer clip is on the MTV movie awards and on youtube.

The werewolfs in twilight are described as big wolfs in the book. They can change into their wolf form at will,or when they feel strong emotions - like anger. The first werewolf of this kind was a man's spirit sharing the body of a wolf with the wolf's spirit.Kinda a long story.:-)For details check out stephenie myer's Ecilpse page 244-251.

yeah just saw the trailer for New Moon and the end of it was WICKED, but honestly a wolf it looked like not a werewolf (Howling/Underworld/etc). I couldn't tell it's size by the way b/c Bella is too far back so not sure if it's bear sized or what. I think those Dames (Scooby Doo dogs) would be a scary height, I think it's bigger (height) though. B/c a vampire with speed and strength shouldn't be afraid. I'm sorry but no way.
can't wait though

A werewolf that looks like a wolf... is a wolf. I really like wolves, but if I want to see them I prefer to watch National Geographic documentals.
And also, just my two cents: this is a vampire movie with some werewolves in it. Or at least some people who transform into wolves. What's the deal??

Actually the Twilight Saga features werewolves more akin to the beasts of legend and lore as opposed to the typical Hollywood creations. Most werewolf legends involved people turning completely into a wolf. In fact the name Wer-Wolf was used to describe a man who could turn into a wolf. In the 1920's old horror movies began using humanized versions of werewolves because of the obvious technical issues. The whole "bite" mythology didn't come into play until Curt Siodmack's "Wolf-Man" script of which was used as a key plot element in order to turn the nobel Larry Tolbert until a vicious werewolf. Later movies would monopolize on this tragedy plot element.
The actual hybrid form didn't really become famous until the "Howling".
While you may like the hybrid form werewolves, they don't have much in common with the real lore, especially that of Native American lore...

"Twilight" fangirls make me wonder about the direction that the human race is going.
......
I will admit that the effects in the trailer were cool, but...it's just...not a good series, unless you're a girl and you're in middle school. This is just my opinion though...hmm.
