Re: Monster Force

No, I don't think I've heard of it. What kind of television show is it? Animated?

Re: Monster Force

Maybe that's why I haven't seen it hmm
But it still seems interesting. I must not get it, then.

Re: Monster Force

"Monster Force" came out about 1996.  At the time, I thought, "Not another silly version of Universal Monsters!"  (A la "Drac Pack", "Groovie Ghoulies," etc.)  An opinion echoed by various media magazines.  To my amazement, MF was quite serious, adhering for the most part to the storylines of the Universal monster movies.  (In a "Bride of Frankenstein" flashback, the scientists are drawn to look like Colin Clive and Ernest Thesinger from the 1935 movie!)

Luke Talbot is one of the main characters, part of the half-occult, half-paramilitary group of monster hunters led by Prof. Crowley of "Lovecraft University".  An episode that particularly stands out in my mind is one where the innocent population of an entire European village is transformed into werewolves.  As the heroes march in and capture the hapless shapeshifters, they make flea- and dog- type jokes to the point that they seem like unwelcome invaders attacking the poor, defenseless lycanthropes.

I've seen "gray market" DVDs and videos of "Monster Force" for sale, but the series is not officially available.  But it's on my list of things to buy when it is!
