Wolf Haven

Whoever might have liked this place before...  they don't feed their wolves enough.  They have a stolen wolf from Wolf People that they refuse to return, and now are at the point where they dont want to go to court so they tried to "buy" the wolf off of Nancy.  All Nancy has wanted is her wolf returned to her and yet they refuse.  They're going to block little Wakita (they call her Sitka Rose) away from all people because they expect her to be a mate to a 12 year old wolf who is shy and does not like people.

This all started when Wolf Haven tried to get Nancy's wolf before.  Nancy said NO.  She wouldn't condemn a flea to that place.   A woman in california said that she wanted the wolf, and could give her a good home.  The verbal agreement was that if the woman could not take care of the wolf, that Nancy got her wolf back.   Approximately a week after the woman got the wolf, Wakita ended up in Wolf Haven.

Wish Momma Wolf luck in getting her wolf back.  This wolf is very special for both her and I.   Wakita is one of Hedge's daughters.  Hedge sired the cubs shortly before he passed away.  So the fact that Wolf Haven is claiming that Wakita is from a private pack BORN in california is infuriating.

Re: Wolf Haven

"They don't feed their wolves enough?"

Ummm...that's probably the most common erroneous assessment of an observer of wolf sanctuaries ever.  It's also wrong nearly 100% of the time, and definitely 100% of the time with permitted operations like Wolf Haven.

This all sounds like rumor to me, especially considering none of it is substantiated.

Please try to refrain from getting invovled in this kind of drama.  I understand the need to look out for the wolves, but badmouthing a facility doesn't do anyone any good, especially not the wolves.  These places rely entirely on donations to survive and thus the wolves rely on donations to survive.  To disparage a facility, especially based on hearsay, is counterproductive.

If you truly believe that the wolves are under-fed, call the ASPCA, the Humane Society, or the FDA - who administers their permits.  Let the professionals handle these situations.  Rumors have been responsible for the deaths of millions of wolves in America's history; let's not let rumor decide the fate of the few we have left, please.

Because Wolves deserve better
