Re: Need to know more about werewolves/Therians

Also, the Therian community is only about 15 years old - not that Therians didn't exist before that but they didn't generally know of other Therians' existence - so you shouldn't expect to see much publication about us. I'm afraid that the most reliable information you're going to find is hearsay and that's not always so reliable.....

Be very weary of roleplayer groups discussing Terians. Many believe what they read in books and see in movies when much has been invented by Hollywood and fiction writers.

Best I can tell, Mainstreamers don't dream as nonhumans. I've been contradicted but I've never seen any contradictory evidence.

Re: Need to know more about werewolves/Therians

Well as I said before I dream as being non-human sometimes. Is a main streamer just a normal person??? But I need to know more signs. Because I only know a few.

Re: Need to know more about werewolves/Therians

A Mainstreamer is a typical human.

Like most types of people, Therians share traits with other groups and an individual Therian probably won't show all the traits. For instance, shovel teeth are much more common in the Therian community than the general population but it's also fairly common among Native Americans, Melungeons, and Neanderthal. Not all Therians have shamanistic experiences or have dream shifts, but as far as I've been able to find in real life - face to face discussions and psychological literature (although I've been contradicted on the Internet), only Therians dream shift (dream as animals). So "signs" are tricky.

a lot of people dream of being non human. better check your dreams first. that doesn't exactly mean you're a therian

Re: Need to know more about werewolves/Therians

A lot of people have said that but I've never been able to get anybody to tell me where they got their information from. Are you thinking of some specific real life individual or do you have any reference that indicates that normal people dream in the form of nonhuman animals?

Re: Need to know more about werewolves/Therians

Ive always thougt that you could just dream of being an animal and that it was normal because you know they are your dreams and you control them.

Re: Need to know more about werewolves/Therians

That might be common sense but the psychological literature doesn't seem to bear that out.

In fact, I've looked through all the dream interpretation guides I could find. They always have sections on dreaming about particular animals but never on dreaming that you are a particular animal. Honestly, I'm willing to accept that normal people dream that they're nonhuman - except that I can't find any instances of it out here in real life.

I when I was much younger I assumed everyone dreamt they were an animal. I do know Mainstreamers who have animal dreams, (not many though.)

Re: Need to know more about werewolves/Therians

I know of a lot of Mainstreamers who have animal dreams, but they dream of animals - not that they are animals. For instance, Freud's Wolf Man did not dream that he was a wolf - he dreamed that his family members were all wolves (sitting in a tree peering at him).

As for me having the final answer, we don't have very many final answers. In order to have final answers, we need some young Therians going into college to nail down some real facts. I missed my chance because, when I had the chance, I had no idea that there was a community of Therians coming along that might need facts. I was digging around through a magnificent research library for my own information.

But for all the people on forums talking as if they actually know what's going on - we really don't know what's going on. So I think (on the basis of everything I've seen), that only Therians dream as animals - but that hasn't been nailed down. In the information world, If it isn't in print with solid credentials, it isn't real.

So when someone says that something can't be because it's not consistent with reincarnation, the first question that should hit you is, "Has reincarnation been shown to be relevant to therianthropy?" If not, then all they can say is, "If my personal philosophy happens to be shown to be correct at some future date, then the something can't be because it's not consistent with my personal philosophy." Until a link between reincarnation and therianthropy is verified, anything based on it is pure speculation and no better or worse than any other pure speculation.

Hello. So, you dream as a wolf? Do you ever find yourself think more like a wolf than a human? Do you feel a connection with wolves?

Re: Need to know more about werewolves/Therians

No, I'm a wolf in my dreams.  Sometime I'm something between a wolf and a man. I think it has to do with how much my physical body is interfering with my dream. I'm not a shifter - I can't really tell a difference in how I think in my dreams and in waking. I don't feel any particular connection with wolves - I'm empathic with pretty much whatever's around me - wolves no more than anything else.

It's when you feel what someone else is feeling as if they were your own feelings.
