Storm The Gate! (Break In City's Art)

I'm a self-taught artist, and my own worst critic. I'm sorry if the wolf isn't.. wolf-enough.

My werewolf character, a chap by the name of 'Mannix', which means little monk.
Very spiritual, he and his wolf are partners, and thick as thieves-unlike other werewolves who fight their wolves, or the 'wild wolves' who embrace their blood lust.

This is his wolf-form, very standard and ordinary wolf. He's pretty friendly and playful. Though he is someone mysteriously 'knowing' of many old traditions concerning his kind.

Wow! Those are great! Did you use paint on it?
I espeically love the wolf. You did very good on the fur strokes, too! The eyes are wonderful!
And no worries about non-wolf/werewolf art, you can post whatever you want.

I used Photoshop to do my works-like all my drawings, save traditional. I'll probably just post my werewolf art here-since I have a deviant art for everything else. And it seems weird to post bird-people/masks/glam rockers in a werewolf forum. *chuckle*

I am happy you like his wolf. I wanted to capture his gentle nature. But I haven't gotten the hang of wolf anatomy yet. Wolves are hard to draw man. *phew*

Damn bro, that's some pretty good art. Never seen photoshop used so well before!

Just curious, is your name perhaps inspired by Tenacious D? (I mean, Break In City, and Storm the Gate!)

I agree, very nice!

smile Well... heh, um... I kinda break that boundary, I haven't been told off for it though, so I'm not quite sure if it's a slid gold rule, I'd love to work more on werewolves, I just feel my anatomy isn't up to scratch.  Do you use a tablet?

Yeah. I use a tablet. It's a "Bamboo Wacom"-I got it for Christmas a couple of years ago.

Human anatomy just comes easy now for me-cause I've been drawing them for.. like ever and a day. But wolves and animals? Well-that's a different story. Though I need practice on animals more than humans.. even if my anatomy overall is a little wonky. I try for proportions sake. *chuckle* :)

Re: Storm The Gate! (Break In City's Art)

I've been working on animal anatomy for a whole year now, on and off. If you want to get one on one, do you have MSN, skype or something like that so we can do quick chats? I'm really interested in how you do your stuff. I have a tablet too, same type as yours, I got it last year for my birthday. My email is on that link type thingy saying 'email' send me a message big_smile

I'll add you to my MSN messengers list. :)

More art-my werewolf Mannix again.
Looks like he's going to wolf out as any second.

Dude, that shading done around the nose and area, it's so freakin' amazing. Looks spray-painted, in a professional, toned way. I like it.
