Well you see, there's absolutely nothing wrong with witty remarks and such at a game, in fact, I love them! Hahahaha, a funny chant or an on-your-toes sort of remark can make even the most boring games memorable, of course, as long as they're not dirty, profane, or obsessive. In baseball, we are lucky enough to have probably the most famous group in the college sport, the Animals of Section B. http://www.sectionb.com/who.htm They are great! (and my dad actually was one of the "founders" of the group that evolved into them) They have all these great chants and songs, and there are a lot of traditions we have that they started, such as singing O Canada during the bottom of the 5th inning for good luck (started during the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, when they did it once to be funny and we did really well that inning and they've done it ever since). It's actually grown to the point that they unveil three full sized Canadian flags during the anthem across the stadium. Anyways, they're a hoot, and very classy too. For instance, one year in the postseason, a team was in our regional (Providence) that was dropping the sport. It was evident that they were going to lose the game to us, but as things got out of reach they, along with our entire stadium began cheering for their players. Following the game, we all gave them a standing ovation that lasted half an hour. Hahahaha, dang, sorry to go on so much about that, but it's a really big reason I love going to the ballgames.

That really is fantastic. I think that is what the games are all about, the crowd!
