Picked up a few more books in recent months.
Three anthologies:
CURSE OF THE FULL MOON edited by James Lowder
RUNNING WITH THE PACK edited by Ekaterina Sedia
FULL MOON CITY edited by Darrell Schweitzer and Martin H. Greenberg
and of course I had to grab LITTLE WOMEN AND WEREWOLVES by Louisa May Alcott and Porter Grand
Also grabbed the STRIP MAULED anthology, edited by Esther Friesner, awhile back but I think I posted elsewhere about that one.
Currently reading WEREWOLF SMACKDOWN by Mario Acevedo.

Only ones I can add to that list are Moon Dance by S.P. Somtow and Werewolf: the Forsaken by Mark Reinhagen.

Geebus. Freaking Moon Dance. That book threw my brain for a loop.

Gil's all Fright Diner is a fun little book. A. Lee Martinez is one of my favorite writers.
The Wolfman by Nicholas Pekearo is an awesome book, it's such a shame the series won't continue.
Wolf Trap is a novel I have around here somewhere. It's decent pulpish action.
I recently finished a book called Bestial: Werewolf Apocalypse. I had really high hopes for this book, as it's essentially a zombie apocalypse story...but with werewolves instead of zombies but it was forgettable, derivative, and ultimately disappointing.
Finally, there's a book I have called Frostbite by David Wellington. It's one of the best damn modern werewolf horror stories out there. I highly recommend both it and Mr. Wellington's vampire series. They finally brings the werewolf and the vampire into modern day horror fiction without giving them spunky human girlfriends.

Hmmm....I know I've got Moon Dance. Must still be in one of my boxes somewhere....
Meanwhile, I just saw a listing for another anthology: "Silver Moon, Bloody Bullets: An Anthology of Werewolf Tails" edited by Jessica A. Weiss. Looks like it came out in May.
Something to add to the wish list....

Someday I'm gonna have to find where you live and get a card for your library! Man, I thought *I* had a lot of werewolf books!

Wow! you have an impressive collection there! If you don't mind, I think I will use it as a sort of... shopping list.
Here are a few more you should add...
Hair of the Dog by Brett Davis
Thor by Wayne Smith (The book Bad Moon is based off of)
Hell-O-Ween by Gary L. Holleman
If you already have them, my bad. My eyes are not working today.
Do you have any photos of your collection? I just love seeing pics of werewolf related collections.

FINALLY got the new Carrie Vaughn, "Kitty Goes to War." I've been missing my Kitty fix. Stupid small-town mallbox bookstores.....
And picked up W.D.Gagliani's "Wolf's Bluff."

So, Arc, if your house were on fire and you could only grab 5 of your werewolf books (assuming family, pets, etc are already safe) which ones would they be?
Offline
Just five?? Aw man....you're killing me here. Can I count the Kitty series as one book?

If such a big werewolf collector likes the Kitty series that much, I suppose I neeed to go and buy all the books right meow. lol

I wasn't going to do the picture thing because...well....figured it'd be a pain in the rump to get stuff together. Then the weather decided to be lousy most of the day and since I didn't want to have the TV or computer on I figured I had the time.
Here's a goodly portion of my books:
Thumbnail goes to much larger image.

Again, thanks for taking the time to do that. Its really nice to see someone else's collection.
Couple questions, if I may.
How was the Underworld Series?
Is the Silver Bullet book basically Cycle of the Werewolf, or is it a full novelization of the film? I have been wanting to buy it, but I am not going to if its word for word the same as Cycle of the Werewolf.
How were the Kitty books? What type of books are they? Horror, Romance, Comedy, Suspense, ect?
I'm just really very curious. Sorry if I ask you so many questions. I have been basically using your collections you have listed for a shopping list. lol You have so much though, I am trying to buy all the best stuff first to keep me busy. lol I work at a new medical office and we have no patients so I sit there all day just reading or watching movies. hehe
Thanks again for posting pics. You rock!

I liked the novelization of the first movie better than the movie. I actually ended up liking the movie better after reading the book.

It's Cycle of the Werewolf, complete with the Wrightson illustrations.

Um....yes? I mean, the local bookstore keeps them in the "S-F / Fantasy" section and they've picked up the "Urban Fantasy" label that so many of the similarly-covered, tough chick showing her shapely - usually tramp-stamped - back to the reader have been marketed under the last few years.
There is a degree of romance...she does end up with a mate...but it's not as up front as say the Mercy Thompson books where several impossibly perfect men are fighting over her and she can't decide who to pick or anything like that.*
The author's website has the first Kitty story online, along with the first chapter of the latest book if you want a peek. http://www.carrievaughn.com/
Some folks haven't quite dug the first book because she starts out kind of weak and scared. She was stuck in a pack with an alpha who was a complete jerkwad who had no problems beating his pack members into submission, especially her.
Over the course of the books tho, she comes into her own, making friends and allies and finding out she's a lot tougher than she realized.
I really like the character of Kitty, who so completely needs to be played in a movie or TV series by Kristen Bell ASAP.
Based on Voices of Dragons, I'm pretty sure I just like Carrie Vaughn's writing.
I work at a new medical office and we have no patients so I sit there all day just reading or watching movies. hehe
Sounds like a great job, at least as long as it pays the bills. I miss my old job where I could spend a fair amount of the day watching the SciFi Channel (especially when they were still showing The Six Million Dollar Man).
Some of the books I haven't read...some I couldn't finish (I'm a little pickier with the books than I am the werewolf movies) and some I've read so long ago I don't remember. But I'll try and answer anything anyone
asks about them.
