The terror that howls in barren places . . .

"The WONDER theme of the terror that howls in barren places is expressed in the wind that sweeps through this picture. Before it everything writhes and dissolves; Nature disintegrates into nightmare." -- Mortensen

Early 20th century celebrity photographer William Mortensen had an interest in manipulating his photos to create weird and sinister images, like this terrific take on a werewolf. Unappreciated in his time, this is trendy again, although nowadays we use photoshop!
