The She-Wolf of London TV series is coming to DVD!
Personally, I'm very jazzed.

I've never heard of the series but I'm not big on watching TV. I can't stand to sit through commercials. It looks interesting though but the link says that the cover is geared toward the Twilight crowd. That has a reverse effect on me and I doubt I would want to watch it. What is the series about?

It's about an american student in UK who gets turned into a she-wolf. Her teacher helps her to "cure" her condition, but they just wander from mistery to mistery without making any progress. The first episodes are not that bad, but I've heard that the last season sucked. The problem with the series is has become old quickly... I mean, older fx, even in the time it was aired. The best about it? There are very few WW series to choose, and yes, there is a female werewolf.

For those not familiar with the series, here's a fine rundown:

I remember liking this one, but I have almost no memory of it. Definately will have to look into this.

There are a couple of snippets on youtube that are bizarre, but... interesting!

I got it for Christmas! Completely a surprise, and I LOVE IT. I'm actually surprised at the quality. The lead actress (Kate Hodge) is brilliant, and her werewolf design is interesting. Love the British feel (haven't got to the 2nd season yet), and the humor is great.
Another thing I love is the fact that they don't use the change to resolve the major conflict every episode, ala 'Incredible Hulk' and the Werewolf TV series. Since the werewolves in the show (so far) only change on a full moon, she doesn't actually change every episode, which is refreshing.
And I like her character so much more than the lead of the Werewolf TV series
So it's wonderful to be enjoying something new (and relatively good!) in the werewolf genre! Yippee!

So... finally finished the series, and boy it was tough wading through the last... 6? Gah.
For some reason, I guess at the end of the first season? Meh, they decided to pack up everything and move the show to Los Angeles. That's where the series takes a notable nose dive. The first LA episode especially, holy crap. The only one I really enjoyed of the LA eppy's was the black and white one - Bride of the Wolfman.
The british produced and filmed episodes were much better I think, and aside from an over the top slip up in the middle, stayed pretty good throughout. Kinda. %)
I still appreciated that she didn't change in every episode to fix the main conflict. I didn't like the change in werewolf design from the brit side to the LA side though... geebus. And I really missed the additional cast from the brit series. They were alot of fun.
All in all, I guess if I had to give this show a rating... erm... maybe 4 out of 10, thanks to the LA episodes? Brit episodes alone, maybe 6.5 out of 10. Some of the episodes I'd even go so far as to give a 7 out of 10. But I think that's as high as I can go...

'Bride of the Wolfman' was one of my favorite eps. Still want to see that movie.
Why do I think 'Beyond the Beyond' is the "slip up" you mentioned from the UK eps?
Apparently the move to LA was a result of losing funding from the UK partners or something like that.

Yeah, some of the later british episodes where starting to go the way of Benny Hill, although I have to admit I have a little bit of a fond feeling for Beyond the Beyond. I am a bit of a trek fan, and loved Galaxy Quest, and while the episode was an ant hill compared to GQ's Everest of awesomeness, I enjoyed what they were trying to do.
Lets see - worst episode of the whole series: Curiosity Killed the Cravitz (sob...)
Best episode of the whole series: This is hard. Loved the pilot, and the next episode (Bogman of Letchmoor Heath), Moonlight Becomes You was also kinda cool, Voodoo Child was pretty good, and Bride of the Wolfman was hilarious Guess I'd have to go with the pilot.
LOVED Kate Hodge. She was really the only thing that saved me from losing my sanity in the LA episodes. The rare moments where they took the show seriously enough to give her some weighty scenes after she changes back and doesn't know where she is (Can't Keep A Dead Man Down (2) after she runs from the plane, The Wild Hunt I think too), were beautifully done - and kinda heartbreaking. She played that very well. Pity they didn't give that weight, and her acting, the attention it deserved throughout the series.

My mate got me this last year.....and I love the story line....but I have to be in a certain mood to watch it. It's hard for me sometimes to watch anything from the 80's cuz of the special effects and the bad acting. But I did like the way the Wolves looked...but I think that the transformations took to long....
But yeah I agree....it's a 4 or 5 out of 10
