High Bloods by John Farris

Anyone else read High Bloods? I really wanted to like this book, but I ended up putting it down less than halfway through.

Besides the fact that I want to throttle anyone who refers to werewolves as "lycans", what was wrong with it?

It was a little slow, plus the future element with the special cops to enforce the lycans gave the whole thing a feel of a Syfy Channel B-movie.

And I'm with you on the lycans thing -- getting real sick of hearing that.

Had the same reaction. I thought a book about a cult of uprising werewolves in Hollywood would be awesome, but in reality it was a snorefest.

Interesting. Two praise-filled five-star reviews and two...somewhat less-so (one and two stars).

I guess this will go on the 'if I see it I'll get it' list versus the 'I want my book and I want it now' list.

Ha! Nice. I'm going to have to spread that one around.
