I find that for Meditation it really can go both ways.  If you are unsure of yourself, and you conduct a meditative exercise like the one this tread begins with then there is a high probability of convincing yourself that your something you are not, however, if you were to do an exercise of this nation having already known who you are it may prove to show something new about yourself or a look at yourself from a different perspective.

Secondly though, real mediation isn't following some set exercise like the one here, but simply practicing the art of calming yourself to the point where you can hear clearly yourself, your thoughts, and even environment around your body. I think that meditation of this nature could be an avenue threw which someone may have had their eyes opened to something they did not know about themselves, therianthropy being just one of those.
