Two Poems

December
December
It’s always so cold
The trees are all sleeping
Everything’s old
The sun has set now
Stealing the light
Goddess Amay
She rules the night
And sits on her throne
Far in the sky
Her sons, they all tremble
Her daughters, they cry
Impersonal, uncaring
She watches the world
As claws are unsheathed
And wings are unfurled
And beasts cry for blood
And hunt in the night
Driven to madness
Set on a flight
Over virgin snow fields
Made bloody by light
As her children are twisted
To break and to fight
As insanity grips them
Stealing their name
A prayer, a hope
To a goddess so vain

Midnight flicker
A candle in the dark
Shadows circle round me
Knives leave no mark
Cut me deep
A million bits
Make the mask
That finally fits
Shattered glass
Bitter blood
It rains and it pours
And comes down a flood
Duct tape glints
Silver half light
Keeps silent the screams
Keeps moving the night
Tears burn paths
Of forbidden rage
We’re locked our mind
The most horrid of cage
Mirror mirror
Crashing down
In this fire
Now we drown
Hearts they stutter
Breathing does pause
As bodies are broken
And shredded by claws
And willful rage
Twists in our eyes
Trapped in our webs
We meet our demise
Dragonflies flutter
Ice freezing black
The things we have done
We can never take back

Goodnight.
