Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

ok i speak with my wolf every day. i speak outloud and he always understands me whether i speak english (any human language actually) or what little wolfspeak i know, and i understand him. problem is he hasnt a physical way to be there and seen so it looks like i am talking to myself (not really a problem now that i mention it... never really cared about stranger's opinions about me....) but who here talks to their wolf? (or their theriotype in general)

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

I can truly say that I do not talk to my Theriotype. I don't see my Theriotype as a separate entity.

Not to say that you're completely insane for talking to your "Theriotype"...

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

I agree, I see it as one with me. It's my actions, my ways of reacting, it's me that's the wolf, not me having a seperate wolf within me.

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

I talk with my wolf on a regular basis. Unlike Ulfr, he's the one who needs guidance from me. He always needs protection from being washed over by negative emotions, and my human side has to comfort him and advise him, as well as link up with him to become one with myself.

I view my wolf side as my emotional side, and my human side as my mental side. Sometimes, my two sides clash with each other, like yin and yang, so my soul, which is impartial and is a blend of both human and wolf, has to stop them.

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

i am going to be perfectly honest here. i am not saying i treat my wolf as a seperate being, because i cant come to terms with it. i say that he is a seperate being because, he thinks in ways that i dont entirely understand. he does things that i wouldnt normally do. i know he is part of me, and always will be, but because of certain things he is not one with me. we are alike in some ways and at the same time there are differences. we are not one and the same, we are two beings bound to one body. my spirit being the animator soul (the one that controls the body) and his being... well guidance, instinct, and many other things. if i have doubts then i consult him. sometimes he is inside the body with my soul, other times he will wander outside. its very hard for me to explain though.... (also guys dont worry about saying im crazy or anything. most of the people in my family kinda are. and i can be a little on the loopy side myself sometimes)

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

I've communicated briefly with my horse-totem, though never verbally.  It's more just pushes that I notice from "him", which lead me to "his advice".
I've had long conversations with Socrates, my Daimon, but never out loud, even if I can see him sitting in front of me.  That'd be weird, talking to an imaginary magic-dragon. O!o
I've never talked to "my raccoon" or "my dragon", those are theriotypes.  I AM my raccoon and dragon.  It's not possible for me to speak to them in any other way than talking to myself, even if they have their own needs and impulses.

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

Hey,Ulrf, how do you know that the wolf isn't the animator "spirit"?

Sherlawk, lots of people talk to themselves. What's wrong with talking to yourself? I talk to myself all the time. Have long conversations, actually. Quite stimulating.

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

I agree with Van Zandt... You can talk with yourself, it's when you reply to yourself that it becomes an issue.

I reply to myself. XD

The What-VanZandt?
And I talk to myself, I just don't glorify it as being magic/mystical...

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

well from what i read about animator souls/spirits, the animator soul is the one that controls the body, while in my wolf's case, he has (from what i can remember) no physical control on the body. he is more of an overlapping..... essence? im not sure how to explain it. he is like my conscience, but more than just my sense of right and wrong. sometimes i can see his outline, should he choose to move about. but i hear and feel what he tells me in my mind and in what i can best describe as a resonation of the spirits. there is probably an easy way to explain it, but i would not know what it is...

UlfrAndi> That's not a theriotype.  You should look into Totems and Daimons.

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

thank you Sherlawk i just looked at the links and Daimons (pronounced demons or day-mons?) seems to fit the description quite well. thank you for clearing that up smile

I pronounce it Die-mon, because it sounds like something with no connotations.

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

It's pronounced "Demon".  You can see why I don't like that.  It's a bad homonym.

Re: Does anyone here speak with their wolves?

that makes sense. demon kinda contradicts what a daimon/daemon actually does....
