Re: WolfMontana's Forum

Just joined Werewolf Cafe and am browsing the forums. I only know Whitley Streiber from that infamous book" "Communion," featuring the dubious "true" account of an alien rectal probe. His "The Wild" sounds fascinating. The idea of a protagonist who is at odds with human society before his transformation seems to go to the heart of the werewolf myth, and has echoes of Herman Hesse's classic Steppenwolf.
Read any other good werewolf books lately?

Yeah, I never read Communion, but The Wild is worth it. There are no slavering werewolves with anger management problems in the book, it's really about one inept poetical man becoming a wolf, but it is vividly written.

I just got 'The Leaping' from a friend, so I'm looking forward to reading that big_smile I'll let you know what it's like.

Re: WolfMontana's Forum

I'm definitely going to look for The Wild on Amazon. Always like it when a writer puts a new spin on an old supernatural concept. Wish someone would come up with a new approach to zombies. The shambling, mindless, flesh-eating thing has gotten kinda old. (ditto for the fast-moving, mindless, flesh-eating thing ala 28 Days Later.)

Hey Busboy, sorry I missed you smile Actually, I had a brilliant weekend big_smile

Spent it with my best bud camping all weekend, dancing like a crazy woman around a drum & fire circle and being nibbled by little fish in a water hole/creek smile Amazing time.

How bout yourself?

Re: WolfMontana's Forum

Glad you had a nice time camping!  I was at a family party with some relatives from out of state too, so it was a nice day.  Weekend went too fast as usual.  There are 3 festivals and 3 conventions coming up, so it will make for a fun summer, now that summer is rolling, lol.

I hope you had fun this summer . . . I've mostly been trying to avoid the triple-digit weather!
