Simple Joys

Music pounds in the blood.

Emotions pour out in a flood.

You look at me like I'm crazy for dancing in the rain.

I smile and call out who wants to be sane!?

Purify your soul with a little joy!

Have some fun for once in your life!

Forget worry and strive!

Who cares!?

Trapped in cramped suits and masks.

Hiding behind what you do to afraid to ask for a simple reprieve.

You simply want to leave.

Leave behind sorrow and fear.

To be the way you once were and hold life dear.

Come closer to me and I'll tell you a secret.

Those who forget to laugh die young.

So don't keep trying to live a charade.

Smile and be a child if only for a day.

Remember the simple joys we had when we were girls and boys.

Playing with the simplest toys.

Who wants to grow up and forget how to live?

Me?

I'd rather remain an ignorant kid.

Re: Simple Joys

Heh-heh I'm already working on two more poems and if I can finish them I'll post before the day is up.
