I wondering if anyone would mention him. There's two actually, but one doesn't attack you (attacking a buddy, instead and taking both of them off screen) and he can be killed, just not conventionally. There's a convoluted method that involves crushing the poor guy in the doors of the nearby observatory.

Sadly, not even mods can make them playable, since they're HUGE.

They look pretty cool, though....

Oh, and people have mentioned Morrowind.

It's (rather old and rare) predecessor, Daggerfall, enables the player to turn into a werewolf as well. Due to the game's nature, though, you're constantly in first person. There's a whole lot about Lycanthropy in TES II: Daggerfall right here, too. And a video where a DF player does a quest and uses his lycanthropy to kill some foes.

This big guy beat the crap outta me the first time I got to that part, cause I didn't realize that he was (cooly)INDESTRUCTABLE!

Anyway, not that he's really a werewolf, but Link in Zelda's Twilight Princess can turn into a pretty cool looking wolf.

Another game I played was a cool-looking 4-player Konami side-scrolling fighting game in which there was a fencer guy that actually transforms himself into a werewolf after getting certain power-ups. I think the name of it was "Anthromorphic Force", I believe. The background music was totally awesome and you can pull off combos in this one, which I liked! People kept looking at me going through the game without getting my werewolf friend hurt and breezing it through towards the end and playing again! I recommend playing this game if you see it! big_smile

I think it was 'Metamorphic Force'?

There are a few videos of it in YouTube. Pretty cool game from what I see, but I've never played it.

Re: Werewolves in Computer Games and Video Games

There was also Wolf Child for the SNES and Sega CD..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH7sWnbOxpY

It was soo painful to play though.

Then there's Sims 2 with the Pets expansion.  If the rabid dark wolf bites your sim.. your sim will turn into a werewolf every night and then he'll be able to "ravage" other sims and do the same to them.  I found it kind of cute.  The only issue was if you have the nightlife expansion for the Sims and if one of the Vampire Sims bites the werewolf sim.. it causes a bit of an issue and the game crashes every now and again wink..

Re: Werewolves in Computer Games and Video Games

The upcoming game for Wii, 'Sadness', seems to have werewolves in it, though I'm not sure if they're good or bad.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can't play as one. Check the concept art out:

Re: Werewolves in Computer Games and Video Games

Here's one more:

A stage in the upcoming Japanese rhythm-game for the Nintendo DS, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2, apparently has a werewolf in it.

http://touch-ds.jp/mfs/ouendan2/mft2.html
(short clips of that stage, showing the gameplay only)

You can't really see the werewolf, I think, but he (or she) is apparently the one that screams for help. (In the game, various characters scream for the Ouendan, who cheers them on as they faces a problem).

The song for that stage is 'Kibun Joujou ↑↑' by mihimaru GT.
Anyway, once the game is released (this Thursday), I'm sure there'll be videos of the whole stage.

More on this when I get the game.

It might be Elite Beat Agents, the US counterpart for Ouendan.
It has English songs and everything.

You should get one. There are plenty of awesome games for the DS.

Re: Werewolves in Computer Games and Video Games

I'm back.

Regarding the werewolf stage in Ouendan 2; it's about a guy who transforms everytime he sees something round.
He fears rejection from his girlfriend because of this problem, so tries to hide it.

Here's a video I found of the stage:

You're welcome! big_smile

And he's not the only werewolf I've seen that transforms after seeing a round object.
Dora Nikov from the Doraemon comics is another one. Maybe it's a Japanese-werewolf thing.

the old classical adventure "Gabriel Knight 2- beast within" from Sierra is about a werewolf.
It has a great athmosphere:

Re: Werewolves in Computer Games and Video Games

I don't think you have mentioned Cornell from one of the N64 Castlevania games, also there are several characters in Final Fantasy V, Kevin from Seiken Densetsu 3, Tinek from Star Ocean, you can wear a werewolf costume in Bully, Volk from Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, The Balverines from Fable, the Werewolf village in Golden Sun 2 and Bo from Breath of Fire.

Re: Werewolves in Computer Games and Video Games

I wonder why I haven't mentioned it yet, but there is a real-time strategy in which werewolves are a unit you can fight with. It's called "Battle Realms".
It's pretty old now (2000, 2001 datadisk), and it seems it wasn't too popular (mabye because of the unique way of resource handling and unit training, but I personally think it's a bonus).

The question is mightier than the answer.

Re: Werewolves in Computer Games and Video Games

Werewolves make an appearance in Dragon Age: Origins as part of an important storyline. However, the modelling and animation jobs were poorly done, as was the voice acting.
