I made the mistake of eating a bag of beef jerky (oops, drooling) on a flight to Australia once. Oooh boy. You know how salt can make you retain water? You know how sometimes your ankles can swell up on or after a big flight?
I ended up with lower legs you coulda built a bridge over. Sheesh. It was not nice. 
I adored the stuff before then, now I don't eat it. I miss it, for damn, it was yummy
