I was pointed to an article that has quite good timing for this:
Polish ecologists have published new fables, in which the wolves are the good guys
Accordig to polish ecologists, wolves are nice animals. The newly published fables should change the opinion of them.
Polish ecologists decided to publish fables, stories and tales, in which wolves would have the positive role. By this they want to change the unfair negative outlook on these animals, friendly and nice by nature.

WARSAW - According to the representatives of the WWF almost 40 percent of the Polish population thinks that wolves are evil and it's nescesarry to fear them. The animals, who, in Poland, have a high population count, are still being hunted, even though they are strictly protected.
The experts say that the fear of these mammals is rooted in people from their childhood, when they listen to and watch fairy tales like The Little Riding Hood, about werewolves, wolves in sheep clothing and other. The children are being frightened by various creatures with big teeth, a lot of adults then fears "forest beasts".
So the Polish WWF organization decided to put an end to these horrible myths. According to them the wolf is good and it is nescesarry to tell others.
The authors of the new tales about wolves are Polish journalists and writers. A CD should appear before Christmas with fairy tales read by Polish stars.
It is estimated that a few hundreds of wolves live in Poland. Their homes are the woodlands in the southeast part of the country and on the Polish side of the Beskydy mountains, from where they sometimes travel also into the Czech Republic.
