what?
you're kidding, right?
bamf is no sound effect, it's an acronym for "bad @ss mother ______" (I'll leave you to guess what the last word is, so don't R-stamp me.)

Whoo! Thanks guys for the great comments.
I don't know how, but I'm gonna have to try and keep this standard up.

ah...ok...
well, I'm not a comic book reader.
And nowadays, the word "BAMF" among people around or under the age of 20 would, 99.9% of the time, in that context, be used to mean "bad @ass mofo".
If you gathered 100 people in that approximate age group and asked them what it meant, I'd bet my left kidney that at least 80 of them would give you that meaning, and fewer than 5 would give the Nightcrawler sound effect.
Hey, it ain't the only word that's changed in meaning in the last century.

*Gasps but teleports the R-stamper away with a BAMF sound effect*
Boy, how things have changed! I'm guessing that you never saw the second X-MEN movie, Howlitzer? Nightcrawler is in that.

Blue Eyes is right, the acronym you used is fairly famous as the sound effect a popular 1970s comic book character makes when he teleports from one point to another.
At least, someone knows where the BAMF sound effect came from. Thanks, Midnight Grey.

Yeah, I saw the X-men movie, the one with Nightcrawler. But they didn't have subtitles or anything for the sound effects, so it's open to interpretation.
If you ask me, the sound effect they used in the new X-Men movie was closer to a "FWOP!" than a "BAMF!"...it had the F sound at the beginning and more of a pop at the end, so BAMF wouldn't quite work. If you have a problem with that, I'd call the producers

*Shrugs*
Ok. If you said so, Howlitzer.
And before the Busboy say it...
Back to the Topic, please.

O.O Gawd damn dude! That's an incredible, brilliant job. So, pursuing a career as an artist then I hope? Want to work in comics? As an illustrator?
Offline
I don't have the dedication to do it for a career.

It took me 22 years of my life to draw something that good. Sounds pretty inconsistent to me.
Believe me, if I drew that good on a consistent basis, I'd have looked into comics by now. It took me like 3 hours to do that, too. Jim Lee could do that in maybe a half an hour.
So for now, I'll just draw for fun, and get paid in kind comments like you guys leave. Right now, thats all I need.

Oh ok but keep in mind that the comics need good artists like you, Bloodfang.

Colored version of that last picture I did. Only the base colors, though. No shading or anything.:

No time like the present dude. And who cares if Jim Lee can do what he does quick. You're not Jim Lee, you're... ah ... [insert your real name here] You make up your own style and your own way of working.
It's never too late to start with this stuff. If you've got the talent and the desire you'll go as far as you can see yourself going.
