Half Life

Nothing to do with werewolves, just felt like dedicating a corner of the forum for the Half Life franchise.

Re: Half Life

The Half-Life series is awesome, and it's really odd how we don't have a Non-Werewolf games section.

I recently bought the Valve complete pack so know I have all the original Half-Life games in addition to HL2 and it's "Episodes". I never finished the original HL you see, I was young and out of ammo when I encountered the barnacles and quit out of frustration, haha.

It also scared the shite out of me. Had nightmares about the headcrab zombies.

Which is part of the reason that when I got HL2 Ravenholm had me wheeling my shotgun about every which way. gorram headcrabs everywhere. big_smile

Re: Half Life

ditto on the headcrabs. I know I've unloaded a clip into those little alien buggers before. *turns around corner looks down* "hmmm what's that, oh sh$%, headcrab!" *unloads machine gun* I also didn't finish the original after my computer crashed. I'm still waitin on the last episode. There spokesman was like well its gonna come out....probably...in the next two years. sad

That was me with the poison headcrabs.

Every time I saw the poison zombie I ran back around the corner and threw every explosive I possessed in it's general direction, then carefully poked my head around the corner with the biggest gorram gun I could find ready to blow some shite up.

Re: Half Life

Anyone have the "They Hunger" conversions for the original Half-Life, turning the game into a full on zombie game?

Man...I need to get my computer sorted out and put that back on the system now.....

Re: Half Life

I love half life. Anyone getting Episode 3? I wonder who's going to lead the Resistance now that Eli's dead. hmm I also hate the zombines with a passion. Get too close... and you'll be spread all over the map.

Re: Half Life

Supposedly Episode 3 is coming in a package, presumably the black box with deathmatch. When is the word in question. From what I can tell its coming out somewhere in between late 2009 and mid 2010. It just sucks waiting that long after the cliff-hanger. :0

Re: Half Life

I've played it since.. I think I was 6 or 7 years when I started. That, and Starcraft, N' Diablo. Old-school rocks.

Re: Half Life

I hear they're going to re-introduce Adrian Shephard (the guy from Opposing Force) in ep3. Also anyone hear about Black Mesa source? I can't wait to see Xen in Orange Box graphics.

Re: Half Life

I finally broke down and bought the orange box (mostly for Portal) and I'm stuck at a point in HL2, you know, the part where you storm the Citadel? I can't figure out how to get inside

[Edit: I have since figured it out and beat the game]

Re: Half Life

Xen with modern graphics.. now that is HAWT!

A half-Life 2 Sven Co-op? YES!

Anyways.. I loved Opposing Force and Blue Shift. Sadly, couldn't find anyone to play Opposing Force with, so I was alone exploring maps with a barnacle on me arm tongue

Re: Half Life

They should put out the original game and expansions on a disc for the new consoles. At least for the 360 so I could play 'em again.

Re: Half Life

I want to get Garry's Mod but I don't want to buy it. I know version 9 is free but the website is down at the moment so I can't download it.

Re: Half Life

Half-Life was such a interesting game. I hated the Zombies as it seems most people did. It took me forever to make my way through both games, I always got killed by the little surprises. I love the story that they are intertwining within the basic plot. I really want to figure out more about the G-man. I'm totally ready for Episode 3 to come out but sadly I heard that it is being pushed back and they might even just go on to HL3 instead of making it an Episode which means another long wait. I would also have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the computer characters in the series, Dog and of course the offshoot stories, GlaDos.

Re: Half Life

I just finished playing Episode One and I watched the trailer for Episode Two. It looks AWESOME! Unfortunately, I haven't installed it yet, even though I have it, it just takes too long to install on my computer. It's amazing what they can do with even my crappy graphics card. it says that I need to update my drivers but I don't see why, it still looks awesome with minimal glitches.

Re: Half Life

I have been unable to even open the second Episode on my Computer, luckily a friend of mine is just as captivated so we ended up tag teaming it through it on their computer. I really enjoy the plot that they have running through the whole thing.
