Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

ummmmm, I don't know b/c I liked Raze's origin in the comci book better, but I UNDERSTAND why they did it, I wish he had a bigger role. Maybe for the sequel

I've seen this movie 4 times and I'm probably gonna go tomorrow!!!!!

Viktor looked GREAT AND SCARY.

Wish they showed the original werewolf and his twin Marcus and Amelia and KRAVEN.

maybe the sequel

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

I liked it. Very gripping and rolled with the first very well. I do wish they had made the graphics better in number one though, because I watched it after seeing 3 and was like yikes "those werewolves suck!"

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

I couldn't agree more. I was disappointed with the first 2 movies, but this was a definate upside to the trilogy. It was gripping, riveting, and emotional smile

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

nah the first one is still reign supreme! But this did well. I cried, I rooted outloud, yeah it was awesome. I think the sequel to this will be cool especially if it's moreso like the comics (Origin of Raze 4 part series) and part one where vamps hunt werewolves and there's a cat and mouse to it. Maybe even in a different setting or time period. But I guess the kingdom that Viktor left at the end is Lucias' fortress now? They might have to address that.  Or they can do a sequel to part 3. I really would go for a tv show though.

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

Watched Underworld 3 and I didn't like it much.
The movie doesn't work well. For one Mithra is not playing in the same league as Beckinsale and for other the script is, as with the previous, lacking extremely only that with first time director Tatopolous it misses the non-stop action and fluidity that made you overlook the obvious flaws of the other two. His direction is often indecisive with lots of unecessary cuts that lead to a jumpy storytelling which at times misses to connect one part to the other making it look awfully disjointed, not to mention the terrible camerawork.
And then there's the lack of any incentive as to why Lucian and Sonja would love each other, apart from being demanded by the script.
All in all while die hard Underworld fans might still enjoy it it's not even close to the other parts.
A pity, because there are classic moments in the movie when it really builds out a fine Fantasy atmosphere, but as it is it plays at best in a league with Dungeon Siege.

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

never heard of Dungeon Siege. Okay so some of it wasn't great and it could have been better. But I enjoyed it!. I do agree there should have been a reason as to why Sonja and Lucien hooked up. But oh well. I thought she did well, she impressed me. Now the only thing I didn't get was why Viktor looked like he had glow in the dark eyes and no one else did. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED THE LOOK. but he looked that way most all the time. Which doesn't make sense. If everyone else looked like that, or at least a scene where like vamps were in hiding and you saw those glow in the dark blue eyes then that would have worked. Now I just read the first chapter of the first book three and man, even though it's sorta the same spill different setting, I ENJOYED SELENE HUNTING werewolves. I guess that wouldn't have worked though doing a cameo. I'm not sure if she's in the book more (it's set Present day vs. Lucien's time, as I'm reading so far)

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

'Dungeon Siege' is one of those dreaded Boll-werks. A movie version of the game of the same name.
It has its moments, same as U3 did, but 'the Uwe' has the same lack in directing skill that Tatopolous shows.
Uninspired camera angles that do nothing for the story and not being able to properly lead his actors, only the editing was better in 'Dungeon Siege'.

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

I was greatly disappointed by the Underworld movies, they could have done a much better job. So.... 'mechanical', that's the only word I can think of to describe them.

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

read the book then. I'm actually reading the book and it pisses me off how it's not a full fledged comic book. Book 3 is like a new setting but basically starts off like movie 1 where Selene and crew (new ones) are stalking lycans. That was awesome. Wow and Sonya had a mom!!!

Well, if you didn't like the first one there's a good chance you won't like the third either.
It feels much the same just that this time around they have a medieval setting and the story doesn't flow as well.

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

This is what I found, not sure how extras will differ for Blu-Ray & regular DVD:

Special Features:
- Filmmaker Commentary
- Cinechat
- Behind the Castle Walls: Picture-in-Picture
- Lycanthropes Around the World Interactive Map
- Underworld: Rise of the Lycans: From Script to Screen
- The Origin of the Feud
- Music Video: "Deathclub" By William Control
- PS3 Wallpaper

Couldn't find a official site for that info, so it's probably just speculation.

I may buy it. I"m still on teh fence. I'm reading the book now and man i wish they'd include clips from before the movie took place even though it's pretty much a rehash of the opening of movie 1.

Re: Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans

I think Underworld 3 had a worse box office than the first (with the second being in lead) so I wouldn't set any hope on a Double-DVD when not even U2 got one.

But one can always hope for a shiny trilogy box. smile
