P-shifters

I've read about them, and I wanted to know if there were acctually werewolves (not like movie kind) that can acctually P-shift... If you are I would love to ask questions. Thanks!

Re: P-shifters

Yeah, if there's someone that can physically become a wolf I'd like to hear about it

Re: P-shifters

I can do minor p-shifts, but nothing big. Just small, barely noticable changes. I also know of people who can shift, like Ketrino Ghoe, a girl who, to me, is the most famous therian out there.

Re: P-shifters

Interesting. What kind of things happen with these "barely noticable changes"? Can you do this at will?

Re: P-shifters

First off, yes I can do it at will. Second of all, what I mean by "barely noticeable changes" is that I can make my canine teeth longer and sharper, I can make my ears pointier, small stuff of those sorts.

Re: P-shifters

Very interesting indeed! Does this ever just happen? Like, you get excited or something and you have one of these minor shifts? If so, have they ever happened around other people and did they notice? (not like, in the middle of a large crowd but like, at home with a couple of people or something....  but if it has happened in a large that would be intriguing to hear about, but I feel it may unlikely.... 'kay I'll stop talking)

Oh sorry I forgot about the questions! *dumb me*

Have you been able to do this your whole life... like since you were young?

Re: P-shifters

From what I've gathered on shifting, physical shifts are extremely hard to come by so don't expect to find one easily. Another more common type of shifting is called Biolocation shifting.
In short it's a shift that happens while your in a deep sleep, or unconscious, and your animal form "materializes" near your body. From there the animal (you) will do what it pleases and anything that happens to the animal, happens to the human. So if it gets a scratch on the back of it's left paw, you will wake up with a scratch on the back of your left hand. None of the sources I've read have mentioned anything about what happens when the animal is killed or when it suffers a terrible injury (like a paw or tail severed). It's often mistaken for physical shifting and is a lot more common.

Hope that helps smile

Re: P-shifters

Bilocation - and it's the way the Norse Werewolves and Berserkers shifted. It's also the kind of shifting known in India.

Re: P-shifters

WolfVanZandt: sorry to disagree, but Norse and Beserkers weren't Biolocation shifters. Curing Biolocation shifting, a person has no control over the animal, the closest thing you can associate Bio-shifting is with ghosts. An astral and etheric animal is summoned and acts just like a normal animal would.  Very few have even been said to be able to transform into their human form. Warrior shifters (ie Norse and Beserkers) do shift but they shift differently. In short, they tap into their animals powers to give themselves super human speed, strength, stamina and so on and so forth.

Re: P-shifters

In the descriptions of Norse shifters, the warrior secrets their body and projects a form that does the fighting. that's called bilocation (meaning being in two places at one time). I have no idea what biolocation is. In all my reading, I've never run into the term. Do you have a reference?

By the way, for one of many references on Norse bilocation, see Shape-changing in the Old Norse Sagas by H. R. Ellis Davidson. A copy is in Charlotte F Otten's A Lycanthropy Reader.

Re: P-shifters

From what I've heard, Bio-location are more of ghosts and are less suited for fighting, their mental shifts give them their reputation as fierce warriors. Bio-location is when a shifter is unconscious (usually in a deep sleep) and an animal (in very few cases their human form) materializes next to them or on the other side of the world and acts like it normally would. I'm not good at explaining it though. My reference is a book called The Magic of Shape shifting by Rosalyn Greene.

Wow, thanks I'll definitely check that out.

Re: P-shifters

Grph. That book is not very well received by the Were community for several reasons. But what you're talking about is bilocation, not biolocation.

Re: P-shifters

O.o

It's granola and most of it that has any value is lifted from other Therians without their permission.

Funny, I kept hearing about this awful book and I, naturally, wanted to see what was so bad about it so I requested it through InterLibrary Loan. Just to be nice to the local Werewolf, the library......bought......the.....book for their stacks. Of course, since they were only being nice to me, I didn't have the heart to tell them to burn it.....

Cool! Hey, will you post some before and after photos for us? Not every day you get to meet a real life P-shifter! You can do it at will, right? So shouldn't be too hard to upload some pics.
