I think we all agree that Darkwolf should have never existed. The only thing I took away from the film is reusing the name for a future story project I have in mind, with nothing related to that plot.

Heh, indeed, the name 'Dark Wolf' holds so much promise

I just saw that movie. Love it, or hate it? Mine's the latter. Low-budget films and CGI just don't work together.

I bought this movie a few years ago. I have to say it's buried somewhere in this disaster area of my room, but I have never bothered to watch it after that first time. Just didn't appeal to me, and while I might suggest like the others did not to watch it, well it's just my opinion after all.

i picked up a film called Darkwolf today along with a zombie film, there's quite a bit of cgi namely during some of the transformation scenes and best of all it has Kane Hodder staring in it
A ravenous werewolf is stalking Los Angeles in search of newbie wolf, Josie, with whom he wants to mate and keep the species going. Detective Steve Turley, one of the few humans hip to werewolves, tries to protect her and several of her friends who are in the werewolf's way. But for a few, their erotic nude photography session ends badly when the werewolf finds out where they are. How will Turley keep the wolf at bay?

Oh man, I just picked that up for $3 at the Big Lots, that was some craptastic CGI. Shame, the idea was kind of interesting.

Wow. There's a phrase you don't see every day.

This is the paradigmatical sample of how CGI can ruin a werewolf movie.

what do you expect from a low budget movie

actually, some low budget movies are pretty damned good, take Hatchet for example

sounds interesting. So I should skip this?

No. You definitely should not skip it.
Heck, if I had to sit thru it, you do, too.
(seriously...there's plenty of worse werewolf films out there)

There ARE?!?!?! Cripes, I can't think of many.

Hmm... Cursed, Skinwalkers, Big Bad Wolf, Rage of the Werewolf (you ain't seen bad before you saw that!), yep I can think of some that I thought to be worse.

Cursed is currenly at the top of my list of worst werewolf films

The Howling 7 and the 1996 Werewolf (or Arizona Werewolf) are the worst I've seen so far.
You'll be begging to watch something as good as Cursed or Skinwalkers or Dark Wolf again after those.
Viergacht wrote:
Is that "New Moon Rising"? I never have even seen a copy of that, I'm beginning to think it's a collective joke made up by the horror movie community. And if Arizona Werewolf was the one on MST3K, hey, at least we got an MST3K out of it!
And I hate to admit it, but although Cursed and Skinwalkers were crappy, I did like the werewolf designs.

In my opinion that dude that played the Darkwolf in this movie and Jason in all Friday's kicked ass. Especially that scene where he is destroying the photo studio naked Pure acting class.

What did the wolf form look like out of curiosity?
- Sadly, I enjoyed The Howling III - Marsupials. Tragic storyline, but it was actually kind of cool.

I've seen better costumes in carnival parties.

The transformation scenes at the end of the movie look like some gently caressing video game, and a really old one for that matter. It sucks so much man

Better than an ape man. Not terrible, but not sure I'll bother even buying this film. Would prefer to rent it if it's even available. Thanks for taking the time to get some pictures mate!
