Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

School has been VERY busy lately, so I haven't been on much...

However after quite some time: MOAR STUFF!

Here's my part of an arttrade with Sugarpoultry, a member at the Pack forums, of her character Andrew...*not* going to post the actual image here since it's rather large and people would stab me after their modem stops crying:
http://howlitzer.deviantart.com/art/Sug … -144170783

I approached the shading a bit differently on this one, it went much more efficiently and came out much better in my opinion than my previous methods of doing it in photoshop....however more tweaking will probably be done.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

I do not believe I have had the opportunity to tell you. Your art is Fantastic! big_smile I have a question for you if you don't mind answering. You said that you used photoshop for the shading on your previous works, what was it you used this time? Also I think it is brilliant that you can create such art with a computer program, I definitely do not have the skill or patients to do something like that in photoshop.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

Thank you big_smile

What I meant about the shading was not that I have stopped using Photoshop for it. My previous method usually involved doing lineart, then coloring, then shading on top of the coloring. This time I did the lineart, then did two separate shading layers and highlight layers on a neutral grey *before* adding colors. Overall it was quicker to do and came out much more consistent throughout the picture.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

Hey your welcome!

Do you do any art as a profession or is it just a casual hobby?

Hey thanks for answering that. I know some individuals like to keep their techniques secret. I still think that is amazing that you were able to do that in a photoshop program. I can not keep my mouse steady enough to draw with it. I just have to stick to my pencil and paper.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

*Dusts off thread*

Hey everyone! Long time...

I haven't been posting much art in here because, well, I haven't been doing much art this last year. College is busy, and I had an actual job over the summer, one which ate up most of my time.

I might as well post some of the things I've done...enjoy.

The most major being my recent entry for this year's Werewolf Calendar Contest (If so inclined, please vote for some pieces on this one! The outcome is partly community vote!):

As for other stuff, here's some of my artings from this last year. You'll notice a lot of perpetual work-in-progress pieces...I hope to fix some of this at some point, as I really do not like working on pieces that have begun to stagnate. I recently decided to start keeping a sketchbook, so there may be periodic dumps from that:
