AshenWolf's book idea...

im really sorry for reposting, since ive put something similar on WVZ and my own personal forums, buti thought it would be better for the topic to be in the literature section. but what do the moderators and members, or at least a few willing members and moderators, think about a book on therianthropy? That we made?

Re: AshenWolf's book idea...

smile i was just thinking maybe we could have the members interested in the idea to write passages on therianism, false werewolf myths, shifting types, FAQs, information on Howls and where some major ones are, and basically just some of our own experiences and coming to terms with realizing it. That sort of thing, but of course the idea is very broad and open to input big_smile

Re: AshenWolf's book idea...

It doesn't seem like a bad idea, I can of course write something.  It won't be about therianism until I know what that actually is, I've heard of them here but not what they are.  Anyway, I'm going to start a series of short stories soon, maybe they could be about what you're talking about.

Re: AshenWolf's book idea...

Therianthropy refers to the metamorphosis of humans into other animals. Therianthropes have long existed in mythology, appearing in ancient cave drawings such as the Sorcerer at Les Trois Frères.

The term therianthropy was used to refer to animal transformation folklore of Asia and Europe as early as 1901.[3] Sometimes, "zoanthropy" is used instead of "therianthropy".

Therianthropy was also used to describe spiritual belief in animal transformation in 1915 and one source raises the possibility the term may have been used in the 16th century in criminal trials of suspected werewolves.

big_smile i think it would be cool to feature some of your short stories wolfblood, if thats okay with you.
And thank you for the defination, lonewolf smile Id love both of you to contribute if you could. therianthropy will be mentioned in various regards of its definition. the one you mentioned, lone, but also the ideas attatched to it in recent years, such as spiritual shifting, and other characteristics, especsially those commonly found on the cafe

I can't be certain but it seems to me like you are thinking of Lycanthropy. Why don't you ask about this in the Therianthropy section since I'd say most of the Therians on this forum would disagree with you.

Re: AshenWolf's book idea...

Lycanthropy is a clinical mental diesease akin to schizophrenia. therianthropy, origianally, took to the context of reffering to shapeshifter, such as shamins, from what i understand. in the last decade or so, the term now mainly refers to those like us on the cafe, who are wolf like in our soul, like a derrivitave of the original meaning. thats all i know, i dont meaan to offend

Hi, you'll probably want to direct people over to your website to discuss your project (since it's not a project for this site), and I'll change the subject name for this thread for you too.
