My life so far...

Once upon a time there was a glorious wolf who lived in a magnificent
and beautiful forest by the sea, but this wolf did not look so glorious.
His snout was too long, and his legs were too short, however his fur was
the most brilliant shade of white and his eyes were deep with
intelligence. He was a very quiet and didn't mind being on his own,
though he did get lonely sometimes.

One day he met a she-wolf. The she-wolf was white, but her coat was
splotched with many other colors like brown and black and grey, he
thought she was the most gorgeous wolf he had ever seen. And he knew she
did not have a mate and was part of a small pack. So he joined her pack
and slowly began to fall in love with the she-wolf. When he asked to
become her mate, she turned him away. For his looks were deceiving and
she did not care to look deep enough to realize what a good and loving
mate he could be because he was not stunning in appearance. However
heartbroken, the glorious wolf did not leave her. He stayed with the
pack, wandering off on his own every now and then into the forest to see
what he could see.

While out in the forest he came across a little blue bird who sang so
beautifully he fell in love with her immediately and left the pack. He
spent all of his time with the little bird, and she made him very happy.
He spent hours with her and was very kind to her. Well, the she-wolf
heard about this and was quite happy for him, so she went to find him
and when she did...His legs had grown long and strong, his snout now fit
his face and he was now the most handsome wolf she had ever seen. The
she-wolf fell in love. Then she noticed the pretty blue bird, but
decided to watch them. While she did see the handsome wolf was happy,
she did not like seeing him with a bird, for she thought he should be
with another wolf. A she-wolf like herself.

So she watched him some more and learned that he was kind and loving and
strong. He was also brave and though he was still quiet, he was very
protective and loyal. The she-wolf began to grow jealous of the blue
bird and she was very in love with the glorious and handsome wolf, and
one day tried to convince the glorious wolf that he should not be with
the bird, and that a member of the pack was better. The handsome wolf
would not listen. He loved the blue bird with all his heart and would
not have any other.

The she-wolf's jealousy grew and grew as she watched them. She became so
jealous she tried to eat the blue bird, but the glorious wolf saved her.
Shamed, the she-wolf went away and left the handsome white wolf alone,
thinking he would hate her forever.

However, one day a sly and cunning cat came into the forest and met the
blue bird. The sly cat spoke so sweetly and hardly left the blue bird's
side until one day she flew away from the wolf to see the cat and never
returned. The handsome wolf became very sad he went to the cliffs by the
sea and he lay down for a long time howling sadly to the moon and crying
softly. He gazed out over the sea and wished for the bird to return but
she did not.

The she-wolf heard his howling and went to see what had happened, when
she discovered all that had occurred, she lay down beside him and licked
his tears. She tried to comfort him and told him she would love him, but
the glorious wolf did not love her. The she-wolf then left him alone,
fearing that he still blamed her for trying to eat the bird and sadly
went away, vowing she would always love him anyway. By now, the she-wolf
had no pack and spend many days and nights alone walking the beach
several miles away from the glorious wolf. Her heart was full of love
for him, but she was sad, because she assumed he would never love her
again as he had before meeting the blue bird. So she cried for a long
time.

Many wolves came to visit her, but they all bit her, and hurt her or
growled at her until she became so hurt, and was bleeding so badly she
lay down in a cave to die. Suddenly a handsome black wolf appeared. He
came to her side and licked her wounds and she fell in love with him.
When the she-wolf was better, they decided to start a pack together at a
later time. And while they were walking through the forest, looking for
a place to start a home, she saw the glorious wolf. He was still alone
on the cliffs, still gazing sadly out at the sea. She tried to approach
him, but was expecting him to shun her again. But instead the wolf got
up and went with her and the black wolf.

The she wolf began to pay more attention to the glorious wolf, while the
black wolf was away. The glorious wolf decided to be her friend and the
she-wolf was quite happy, but she still loved him. Now the she wolf was
confused, for she loved both the handsome wolves, but only the black
wolf would love her back. She would play with the glorious wolf, nipping
at him and running and the glorious wolf would nip back and yip happily.
But the Black wolf growled softly at this. He did not like the glorious
wolf and was afraid he would take the she-wolf away from him, for he
knew the she-wolf still loved the glorious wolf. The she wolf assured
him that the glorious wolf would never love her so the black wolf
decided to trust her and slept soundly.

Well, as the she-wolf played with the glorious wolf, the glorious wolf
began to get a little closer to her. While she enjoyed this, and
pretended that the glorious wolf did love her, she always knew he did
not. All the while the black wolf remained wary of the glorious wolf,
even though the she-wolf was certain that the glorious wolf would never
love her and would never have her as a mate because she thought he hated
her for trying to eat the blue bird so long ago.

The glorious wolf heard this and secretly told the she-wolf he never was
mad at her for that and understood why she had tried to do such a nasty
thing. The she-wolf began to cry tears of relief, finally knowing that
he did not hate her made all her guilt leak out and she felt as if a
horrid weight had been lifted from her shoulders. But now she had a new
problem, now she did not know why the glorious wolf did not want her as
his mate. Perhaps it was because she had turned him away when he had
approached her long ago? She would never know.

She then decided to continue assuring the black wolf she loved him more
than the glorious wolf, but deep inside she wondered. If the glorious
wolf ever decided to love her back, she did not know if she could turn
him away again, for she still regretted the first time. So she went off
by herself to think. All the animals in the forest told her to leave the
glorious wolf, some even told her to hurt him and make him leave, even
kill him. The she-wolf ignored them and went to the cliffs to gaze up at
the moon.

She prayed to the moon goddess that there would be a sign. Who should
she be with? Who really loved her? She gave her prayer as a song and
howled sadly all her questions and told her confused heart and her story
to the sky. She asked for a sign, which wolf would be better? She called
for them both to come to her, but the Black wolf was sleeping and did
not hear her. So the glorious wolf came to her. He sat with her and
talked to her deep into the night until she fell asleep.

When she woke up, the black wolf was there. She wondered if the glorious
wolf coming to her the night before had been the sign she had asked for
and questioned the moon, but it was silent as always. She thought about
the reasons why she loved each of them. The handsome black wolf had
saved her from death and kept her safe from all the wolves that wanted
to hurt her. He loved her back and was indeed handsome, but she wasn't
sure if she would trust him with pups and the task of taking care of her
and protecting their home. So she went and told him. The black wolf
growled a little but assured her he would be responsible. The she-wolf
tried to believe him, but decided to wait until she saw him take some
initiative before she decided to just trust his word.

Next, she thought about the glorious wolf, but instead of thinking of
reasons why she loved him, the only things that came to her mind was how
much she wanted to help and care for him. She knew that deep inside the
white wolf was still very lonely even though he was her friend, she also
knew he would never allow her to fill his loneliness. She could not
think of any reasons, she could only feel what she felt, and she did not
understand it. So she went back to the beach where she had met the black
wolf and began to tell her story to the forest and all who would listen
looking for advice to her problem. She had been prepared to become the
black wolf's mate, and while she was still willing to do that her heart
was confused and she wanted to be fully sure before she made any rash
decisions to do anything.

However the forest was silent. And the wolf made up her mind to leave the black wolf, hoping for an adventure with the glorious wolf. However, she found out that the glorious wolf was not so glorious. She had cried long and hard to the moon for leaving the black wolf and now, with this new discovery of the unglorious wolf. She couldn't wait to run home to the black wolf. When she did, she promised to never leave or hurt the black wolf again.

After a while, the she-wolf began to get adventurous, she wanted to play with the foxes and the coyotes, the wold dogs and all the other animals of the forest.  She wanted to know what all these other animals were like, but the black wolf would not have it. He became more and more hurt that she wanted to play with all the other animals and not him. One day, while the she-wolf was out playing with a handsome lion a poisonous, evil snake came to visit the black wolf.

She sang to him of how horrible the she-wolf was, and how unfaithful she was. The black wolf believed her and left the den with the snake.

Meanwhile, the she wolf had gone to tell the lion, and all the other animals that she was done playing with them and was ready to fully become the black wolf's mate. She gave a great howl to tell the black wolf she was coming home and she would never stray, even for fun again. But as she approached the den, it was empty. She had come too late. The black wolf had gone away with the snake and all the she wolf could do as cry.

She sang to the moon of her wrongs, prayed to take back her mistakes. The black wolf was strong and faithful, while she had been too adventurous. The white lion and the other animals listened nearby to her heartbreak, but when they approached to take the black wolfs place, she shied away or shooed them from their home. And every night and day for all the rest of the days that followed, her cry of sorrow rang out over the forest and the ocean, echoing into the distant lands in the hopes the black wolf would believe her, hear her, and come back to her. She didn't eat, nor rest or stop to breath, she only cried and cried.

Finally she walked to the cliffs and gazed down to the jagged rocks below. The waves crashed against the rocks, as if reaching for her. She stood there, emptiness and sadness filling her soul. She wanted to prove to the black wolf how sorry she was. Perhaps if she threw herself off the cliff to her death he would realize that she was sorry for wanting to play with the other animals. All of the forest friends stood behind her, they called for her to come back from the cliff but there was only one voice that could stop her, and it was that of the black wolf.

The black wolf did emerge from the crowd and told her to stop, but when the she-wolf turned to run back to him, she saw the snake coiled tightly around his neck, her poisonous fangs buried deeply in his throat. She lay down at the cliff and pleaded for him to forgive her. But the black wolf did not budge. He used some of the snake's magic to weaken the rock beneath the she-wolf's paws. The ground began to give way. And as the she-wolf began to fall, the black wolf stopped a moment to think about how he felt for the she-wolf.

...However the serpents powers were too great and the wolf fell. The crack of her body against the rocks echoed throughout the forest. But she did not die, nor was she hurt enough to remain unmoving. She was, with much agony, able to move on. A few animals climbed down the cliff to help her, some were other animals wanting to be her mate, other were just friendly kin.

Several moons after her fall she heard singing in the night. Yet another wolf, it was the most beautiful song she had ever heard,a nd she answered it with a call of her own. All too soon came upon a dusty colored wolf who had a whole pack under his command. The she wolf, however, instead of becoming smitten right away, kept her distance, however spent time with the wolf. As she grew fond of him, she realized she was still sad over the black wolf's betrayal and went deep into the forest to cry. However her tears became growls.

There, alone in the forest she thrashed and tore at nothing, but her teeth sank into something. It was a rabbit and this rabbit had been a good friend of hers for a while. She did not kill the rabbit, but the creature did not forgive the wound. She used her hind claws to cut the wolf and ran away, vowing to hate the wolf forever. Saddened by this second betrayal, the wolf returned to her new alpha and realized how many friends she still had in the forest, and the new friends she still had yet to meet within the new wolf's pack.

....yeah there's my metaphoric heaven of a life lol what do you think?

it's supposed to be like a fairy tale. Not an actual novel-like story. *is offended*

Re: My life so far...

it's basically my life put into a very old-fashioned fairy-tale themed story. Ever read any original Hans Christian Anderson, Aesop, or Grimm stories? That was my reference for writing style.

Re: My life so far...

Me too, but like I said, the sandy-colored wolf brings new hope. And stupid rabbit. Why the heck was I friends with prey anyway? Eh..but I deal. I'll keep adding to the story as my life goes on.

Re: My life so far...

The she-wolf still had trouble truly submitting to the sandy wolf because her heart was still so torn over the black wolf. So she decided to look at it not as if the black wolf had changed, but she pretended that he had died and now there was a cruel wolf who looked just like him roaming the forest. Friends of the black wolf began to dislike him for changing and letting the serpent control him, and the she-wolf condoned this.

Shortly after she decided the black wolf she loved so much no longer existed, she felt her heart open. She and the sandy wolf fought often, their personalities were so very opposite. Yet after her revelation about the black wolf, she felt herself falling for the sandy-wolf. She tried so hard not to tell him she loved him when the feeling came to her. Over time, he started opening up to her, and sharing things he wouldn't share with anyone else. She was so touched, and she learned so much about the real him that the fights from before held little weight. He told her that he was starting to fall for her, and then, after several months, admitted that he loved her and the she wolf cried.

She had a mate who was strong, loyal, masculine, and who could and would protect ehr and most importantly..love her. She decided that if he loved her, and would do all those things and be all those thigns, their differences of opinion didn't matter. The few things he did that she disapproved of didn't matter as long as he cared about her and loved her.

So she waited. She wanted to wait for him to really love her, wait to see if it would hurt him if anything happened to her...and if her loss would indeed affect him and sadden him then she could love him more by feeling needed.

One night under the stars she told him of how she had fallen from the cliff and he nuzzled her so tightly and told her he was thankful for her still being alive. She cried again. Maybe someday she would trust herself enough to tell him she loved him too...but until then, she wanted to hear him say it a few more times. wink

Re: My life so far...

It finally happened. She told the sandy wolf of her love, and from there it started to bloom like never before. It became winter in the forest and the two wolves romped and played, they lay together for long hours and loved for all time. But then, one day, who came before her but the black wolf. The snake was gone from his neck, the wound there was fresh and it bled slightly. He confessed that everyone had been right, and the snake had been evil. She had hurt him and then left him to die.

The she-wolf felt a bit smug about this. “I told you so.” Were the first words through her lips. The black wolf hung his head. The speckled she wolf felt a little bad for him, she had loved him so…and now she was over him. He had let the snake control him, he had let her fall off the cliff and not done a thing to save her, he had ignored her and hurt her so. Now she had a new mate who’s will was so much stronger, and he was stronger. She said she would be there for the black wolf, but she was still hurt, and even too hurt to even think of taking him as a mate again. She knew they had both hurt each other, far worse than they had thought. But damage to her heart was too great. She didn’t want to feel the hurt again. So she turned away from him and walked back toward the sandy wolf. She vowed that if anything ever happened to end her time with the sandy wolf, and if the black wolf proved her love for her and prove he was mournfully and absolutely filled with remorse. If he could win her heart again, she would return. But for now, only the sandy wolf had her heart, and that’s how it would stay for as long as the sandy wolf allowed it.

But only a few days after this revelation, the sandy wolf's character completely changed. he bacame vicious, and started biting her, nipping her over little things. It seemed everything she did was wrong, she couldn't make him happy no matter what she did. So he told his pack bad things about her, until they all hated her, and then, one night, he hurt her most horribly. SO with an aching heart...she left him. That noght she cried to the moon and felt like her soul was leaving. Why could she not find love anywhere? Why was love so hard? Why was searching for it so cruel and painful?

The black wolf crept up to her side and nuzzled her gently. He would be there. But the She-wolf wasn't ready, her bleeding heart was cut too deep. She cried more...and decided perhaps a better mate for her...would be...female.
