Dreams about werewolfs

I have had dreams about werewolf's for some time now. 1 in particular. And it repeats very often. Could some1 please help me, and give me the meaning to it.
The dream starts of with me sitting next to a pond or a stream with a very old wall next to me. Must be a castle or an old fort of some kind.
About a hundred or so meters away from me there is 2 men fishing. I start to feel very uneasy and I cant figure out why. Then I see a shape come out of the water that is very blurry, and it attacks the 1 fisher man. Tearing him to bits. At that point I feel I must run. The shape slowly turns and looks at me. At this point the shape starts to come in to focus and I can clearly make out the yellow eyes and Long white fangs, and the body of a wolf. The huge body hunkers up on two legs and start to move towards me. At that point I turn and run.
I dream that I Run through houses and over fences. And even though I cant see the creature, I can feel him close to me. I break free from the houses and in to a field with 1 House standing alone in it. I run up to the house, up the porch and man handle the door open. Running in side I find the house empty. I run down the hall and in to the last room on the left. This room has got a window facing towards the field from which I just came.
Looking through the window I can see the creature moving fast over the roof tops and in to the field, following my sent. It ran on to the porch and I could hear the front door smash in. From this moment on I can see, hear and feel what the creature is seeing, hearing and feeling. Like we are the same being. I hear him walk up the hall and stop at the door, sniffing my sent and fear. He knows where I am. Then the door smashes in ward and I can see him clearly. At that point I wake up.
The dream seems so real. the fear is definitely real. It seems and feels like it really did happen.
What does this mean?

Re: Dreams about werewolfs

Just to be clear there is very little chance that a dream like this is related to Therianism. A common misconception that probably comes from werewolf movies where the person starts having dreams after they are bitten. But anyway to the point:

If you can't seem to find the answer through thorough self exploration find a psychologist or dream specialist and ask them. If you have been having this dream for that long I would say it probably has to do with some issue from your childhood that you have yet to come to terms with. One likely possibility that the actual issue the dream is related to has little or nothing to do with werewolves and that your sub conscious is projecting the thing you fear to resolve as a creature which you associate with fear.

One of the most useful practices I've come across for interpreting dreams is to consider every entity and object of significance in the dream (including yourself) to be a representation of a part of your own psyche. So basically look at the dream as an interaction between different parts of yourself, each characterized by an entity you (subconsciously) associate with that part. Try to figure out which parts of the dream correspond to the past, present and future of your mentality regarding the issue.

On that same line of thought, the part about experiencing part of the dream from the perspective of the wolf is something that you should consider closely. Try to pay special attention what you think and feel during that period, generally I find that main character whose perspective I witness events from corresponds to my conscious mind (the part that makes the decisions). If you succeed focusing upon what you feel as the wolf then you can also attempt to take the perspective of the wolf (or other characters for that matter) at other times. Or at least to "sense" the feelings from the perspective of the wolf.

Re: Dreams about werewolfs

Actually, I've gone through the literature and I've questioned a lot of people and the only people I've ever run into that dream as an animal are Therians. I've run into people on the Internet that say that they're not a Therian or know someone who's not a Therian that dream as animals, but it's usually people who get a kick out of contradicting me, so I'm suspicious. Real life trumps Internet every time.

Of course, the reverse is also true. Anybody can say, "If I say I dream as an animal, that will make everyone think I'm a Werewolf." The point is that you really can't put much stock into anything you see on the Internet. Real life is different, though.

And in my experience, in Real life, only Therians dream in the form of animals.

Now, the kind of dream that Spider related - something chancing you and you can't get away - is a very common form for both Therians and Mainstreamers and it usually is caused by frustration.

On the other hand, I also prefer the kind of dream analysis that BDK described and specifically the modification called Gestalt dream analysis. So if you want to figure out the details about where the frustration is coming from - what he said.........

Re: Dreams about werewolfs

I disagree, VanZandt.  It doesn't seem too strange to me that a non-therian would dream about being an animal, and I actually have heard of it happening to people who weren't named as therians.  I do dream of being a raccoon sometimes, but I've never seen it as a required part of therianthropy, just something that happens when you picture yourself as one.
