Uber Lycans in 'Underworld: New Dawn'

Bloody-Disgusting writes: Sony Screen Gems is getting ready to roll on the fourth Underworld film that we've learned is tentatively titled Underworld 4: New Dawn. In addition, we did a little digging and were able to conjur up the actual plot that was hidden until now: "After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale) learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Nissa, and when she finds her they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all." I'm hoping the film follows the beats of TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze (kidding). Swedish directors Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein will be taking the helm with a planned release on January 20, 2012 in 3-D. Casting is underway

Re: Uber Lycans in 'Underworld: New Dawn'

It sounds a little over the top for me.

Main character in a coma: Check.

Has a secret daughter with all the cool powers (born while in the coma): Check.

Eveeel Corporation wanting to bioengineer a race of pointlessly vicious killer monsters: Check.

Does it get more Saturday morning than this?  I mean, seriously.  The Underworld series fell into the typical trap that most horror movies fell into, back in the nineties ie: When you run out of ideas, do a prequel and if the studio somehow greenlights another movie, make it in space or just add science.

Roger Corman would be proud.

that plot does sound very laughable, and it gives me a TMNT feeling too. even the name of the company: BioCom. wow... just wow...

OMG!! Just when I thought Underworld was making some headway with the series, reading this description has taken this several steps back.

Really? That's all I can say about this. I sincerely hope this is a mistake and that they come up with something that doesn't sound so... stupid.

If this is what Underworld 4 is going to be about however, I know I won't be seeing it.

Heh - I would, but that would be too easy and would give Twilight far too much power.

Re: Uber Lycans in 'Underworld: New Dawn'

Now, now. Let's not get the cart before the horse. There have been tons, and I do mean tons, of movies in the past that had a scetchy synopsis and a poor sounding plot. And how many times have we looked at one and thought just that, only to find out that the filming and the execution of the roles actually made it a quite enjoyable film. I say we let them do their best and decide off the final product. Might surprise us. Then again, we might crash the internet flaming the bastage of a film.

Personally, I'd rather see a tv series, because they could do simple episodes that please everybody. If you like Selene, do some episode flashbacks, if you like Raze then do some episodes where he fights some vamps. I wouldn't mind seeing the vamp from the first movie with the whips knock somebody out. Even if he fights a vamp.

Anyway, what are some updates with this.
