Kormiak's Bardic Circle!

I will occasionally post historical, old fictional and stories of my own creation having to do with wolves and werewolves here, accompanied by a little musical lyrics.

To see my first Tale as Bard of the Forum, go to Ulfr's Place in the member's personal forum and go to page 66.

And if walls could speak,
I pray that they would tell me what to do

Re: Kormiak's Bardic Circle!

Alright, here's a little ditty I made, based off of an old European story;

Long ago, before Cristianity, and the idea that werewolves were terrible demons, spread throughout Europe, there were many stories told where they were heroes, and even comedy figures.  This is one such tale............

The Prettiest Wolf, The Prettiest Girl.

*picks up his guitar and starts up with a jaunty Irish reel*

Well, Erin was a pretty little wolf,
The prettiest you'd ever see.
But it was so sad, she was so hungry,
Famished for more than a week.
'Til she had an idea, a crazy one,
But it was her only hope.
So she went to the town with the Prettiest Girl,
To the butcher's shop where the meat was hung.
And she leapt for a piece, but missed her mark,
And fell down the well.
And she lay down there for all to see......

And you know.......

The Prettiest Wolf and The Prettiest Girl were but one and the same.
Yes, The Prettiest Wolf and the Prettiest Girl and Erin is her name.

Well, they pulled her out and gave her a meal, and laughed as they heard her say,
"Ye know, I've been a dullard, I really shoulda thought o' this long before today!"

The Prettiest Wolf was the Prettiest Girl, and that's all we have to say.
The Prettiest Wolf was the Prettiest Girl, and young Erin's here to stay!

Re: Kormiak's Bardic Circle!

big_smile  Thanks, man.  It always struck me as an interesting story ever since I heard about it, and though I made up the names and such, it's still a great song!

Re: Kormiak's Bardic Circle!

For all those who love both wolves and coyotes, here is a song of my own creation.

*picks up guitar and begins strumming a fast, bluegrass style tune*

C'mere Charlie, you need to listen to me:

Cause there's a price on your head,
For any man that make ya dead.
But in case ya don't know what to do,
Listen and I'll tell you:

Ya just run,
Run, Charlie, run,
Run as fast as ya can,
Run, Charlie, run,
'Cause on your hide they've placed a ban,
So, run, Charlie, run.

The choppers are closin' in,
The hounds are lopin' outta the sun,
Their motors are makin' a din,
And the G-Man's got a gun:

So just run,
Run, Charlie, run,
Run as fast as ya can,
Run, Charlie, run,
'Cause on your hide they've placed a ban,
So run, Charlie, run.

Stay out of his crosshairs,
Even if ya draw some glares,
Whatever ya do,
Don't let 'im find your lairs,
Even if ya catch some stares,
just stay out of his crosshairs,
'Cause he's got a gun:

So just run,
Run, Charlie, run,
Run as fast as ya can,
Run, Charlie, run,
'Cause on your hide they've placed a ban,
So run, Charlie, run.

The news came in today,
That Charlie got clear away,
He's down in old Yella'stone now, so they say,
And you an' I know that he's doin' okay.

That's why I said:

Run, Charlie, run,
Run as fast as ya can,
Run, Charlie, run,
'Cause on your hide they've placed a ban,
So run, Charlie, run.

Yeah, ya just run!

Yeah, there's a price on your head,
For any man that can make ya dead.

Woo, so just run!

C'mon, run,
Woah, yeah, run!

Run, Charlie, Run!
