X-Factor by Marvel issues 222, 223 +

SPOILERS

Just finished reading X-Factor 222, and was delighted to see that Jack Russell is 'guest starring' currently. I guess this is Rayne's first time meeting him? Rayne is one of my favorite comic werewolves (one of the few comic werewolves really...), and her storyline has been going for a while with the book, probably the last 4? 5? issues? (6? I dunno, check it out anyway), however having Jack pop up just made things that much more AWESOME.

The preview cover for the next issue is just sweet:

Really looking forward to it big_smile Would love to see her 'prince' pop up again big_smile

PS: Yes, she's preggers wink

Don't know much about Wolfsbane unfortunately, but it's nice to see her in the spotlight.

wolfsbane is one of the underused Marvel characters same as Jack Russell... trouble is with Disney owning Marvel now she may just be a background character or turn up now and again

I don't get the Disney = less Wolfsbane connection? You mean censorship?

Re: X-Factor by Marvel issues 222, 223 +

I picked up one issue of whichever comic she was on Wolverine's team of Black Ops assassins -- didn't much like seeing Wolfsbane in that role.  But I backed up to X-FACTOR 220, and the "what has gone before" part says Rahne is pregnant by Hrimhari!  Whoa!  I'd back up to see how they re-connected.

Yeah, I always loved that relationship, ever since the X-Men annual with the New Mutants smile

I haven't read X-Men in decades, but I do still have Rahne's origin story in my stacks somewhere. Gotta say I'm loving the cover art there.

Re: X-Factor by Marvel issues 222, 223 +

SPOILERS:

Yeah, so, in the last issue I saw, Rahne was trapped by Agamemnon (who looked like a kid) so he could have control of her baby since it's the first child born of a god and a mutant.  Rahne puked the baby up like a hairball.  It was a little furry wolf demon baby, and it quickly killed Agamemnon.

Meanwhile, X-Factor and Jack Russell are fighting off some other gods vying for control of the baby.  I'm kind of drawing a blank here, but I think the baby eventually kills the goddess or something.  Regardless, X-Factor saves Rahne and Sryin knocks the baby far away with her scream.  They carry Rahne away as she's mumbling to herself about having been judged.

Jack Russell finds the baby (who is much calmer for some reason) and takes it away, saying no one will ever harm it.  Feral, the cat lady, is spying on them and says, "Yeah, just keep telling yourself that."

END SPOILERS

I used to love Wolfsbane when she was in X-Factor the first time, and then Excalibur.  I've been dissatisfied with her portrayal as somewhat of a religious hypocrite since the new X-Factor started.  Her naivete is gone, and now she should know better, but she doesn't act like it.  She's a bit angsty now, too.

In 2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4 billion. It has been a Limited Liability Company (LLC) since then.

It's been driving me crazy, that cover reminded me of something, and I finally found it (by Tim Hildebrandt)

Always liked, waaaay back in the first New Mutants Graphic Novel (also the first Marvel graphic novel, iirc), that Rahne is the first new character we meet.

Re: X-Factor by Marvel issues 222, 223 +

The thing I didn't like about that X-FACTOR story was the way Rahne so easily gave up her child.  Well, that's changed in X-FACTOR 242, on sale now, where there's a tearful re-union between mother and son:

http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd12 … /rahne.jpg

Unfortunately, there are those who wish to slay mother and child, not the least of which is former X-Factorian Darwin, who believes the boy (Tier) is going to bring about Armageddon!
