Howlitzer's werewolf art

Just browsing when I stumbled upon this site, so I thought I'd join. I've been drawing for about as long as I can remember, I've always been able to do realism pretty well. Mainly I just draw when I'm bored (which is a lot). Thinking of what to draw is the problem with me, though. hmm

Feel free to critique my stuff to shreds.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

I have that problem all the time.

It's good. I'd never have the patience to render the fur like you did there.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

Dude. Freaking awesome big_smile  Excellent work on his fur! smile The patterns of light and dark fur are *brilliant*, love the way it's dark over his shoulders, then gives way to light fur. His chest detail is fantastic, your muscle work is very true to life, and I love his head. smile About the only nitpick I have is the proportion of his hands/paws, but it's a small thing. Great work!!

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

Thanks to photoshop and my franken-laptop, here's the color version. My scanner has epilepsy or something, so there's no new picture at the moment.

Wow that looks very impressive in color! Hope you're able to get your scanner straightened out so that we can see more of your work. Any plans or ideas for future drawings?

Thanks big_smile...photoshop smile...

I have no clue on future drawings. I'm pretty good with real-life stuff, doing it out of thin-air is just a matter of what comes out of the thin air.  I just draw when I'm bored and something pops into my head, or when I get something stuck in my head (like from a movie or book)...or when I mindlessly doodle a couple lines on a paper and they remind me of something. This one was partially caused by a rather odd nightmare hmm

When I plan it, it stinks...which is probably why creative writing, of all things, is what I'm worst at.

Although I might try something similar to this, but with a background. I don't do backgrounds often.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

great! now my scanner works, just as I'm cleaning all the muck off of the glass before trying to fix it, it starts scanning me....

the preview that popped up on my screen was kinda ... weird. For one, my eyes moved when the thing scanned across, so both eyes are going out in opposite directions.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

thanks big_smile...I got bored and drew it without the tiny scales...then I was still bored (and in traffic) and didn't have any more paper, so I started the scales.

Very cool dragon!  Also, that's cool you made the head of your werewolf picture as your avatar.

Re: Howlitzer's werewolf art

I love your attention to details. I think I'd have lost my mind if i had to draw all those scales.

Also, I like the back leg muslces and its head a bunch.

Yeah, I love how you've captures the muscles, those details under the scale work on your dragon and the fur detail on your werewolf. They feel real, like you can really reach out and touch them. smile
