Mark of the Wolf

Hey there.

For those of you who've been to my forum here at the Cafe, I've been planning a little movie project called "Mark of the Wolf". So now that we're a few weeks away from starting production, the time has come to create a specific forum on the movie.

Plans are to film this movie in two parts. The first part will be done in August and the rest of it will be done next summer. My goal is to release this film sometime next fall.

So while I'll post all the news and info about this project, I also hope that this forum will be an outlet for all the other writers and directors here at the Cafe to give me some advice and tips for this my first big time movie project. I'll greatly appreciate any comments you can provide.

I've completed the first part of the script and will be working on the next segment of it this week. If you'd like to read part of it, please let me know and I'll send you a copy, I'll love any feedback you can provide.

And lastly, I'm proud to unveil the official logo for MOTW. Here it is:

Thanks for your comments so far and I'm looking forward to putting this project together. I can't wait to get started.

Re: Mark of the Wolf

I'd take the howling wolf out of the moon. It's cheesy looking. Other than that it's a fine logo. A basic design principle is "less is more" Actually I'd take out the pentagram too. Leave the moon. that says it all. "

(The word)Wolf+Moon=Werewolf. More than enough.

Re: Mark of the Wolf

Thanks for the advice NM, but once you'll hear the plot, you'll understand why this is the logo I want.

Further details coming...

That pentagram looks cool because it looks like an "A".

Re: Mark of the Wolf

Thanks guys for the comments so far. I'm in the process of working on the next part of the script. That should be done by the weekend, then comes the storyboarding part (where I'll put my stick figure drawing skills to great use tongue)

We're two weeks away from starting production. Can not wait. smile

For more on the film's progress, check out my blog, http://markofthewolf.blogspot.com

I'll have an official webpage for it up soon.

When I read the part where you wrote "(where I'll put my stick figure drawing skills to great use )" I started laughing so hard, you are too funny.  With all the comics you are into and the filming aspect, I'ld figure you would be able to tackle some of the art apects too.  Good luck!

Re: Mark of the Wolf

Some news to report on the movie project. Due to some casting issues and people getting used to the script, we've pushed the start of production back a week, so we hope to begin shooting the week of August 10-13. There may be an outside chance more shooting will happen in late September as well. That's still tenative though, but I'll keep you posted.

Re: Mark of the Wolf

Well some bad news to report about MOTW. I've made the decision to delay filming, which was supposed to start this week, till late this year or early next. There was some casting issues involving the person I had chosen to play the lead role. And since I could not get a firm commitment from him regarding rescheduling,  I had no choice but to let him go. sad

Now, this is a major disappointment, especially when we were so close to beginning production, but it had to be done.

But, despite this setback, the project is not dead. It'll give me a chance to regroup and do this right, which was my intention in the first place. First off, I have found someone who may take over the lead. Next, we're going to put together a plan where we're going to take our time to fine tune the script, to raise the budget, to nail down the locations (which was another sticking point) and to put everything else together.

As it stands now, we're putting things on hold until late September, when me and my friends will gather and set up a game plan for when we can begin shooting.

My goal is still the same, to have it released sometime next year and I still plan on putting together a teaser trailer in the fall.

So, despite the setback, I still have every intention of doing this movie. I sitll have several others who are firmly behind it, so as soon as we get things together, we will put this together. It will happen, count on it.

Re: Mark of the Wolf

Hey there, it's been a while since I last posted something about my movie. Just wanted to let everyone know that the project is not dead. It's still a go.

-- I have recast the lead role, as well as two others.

--Plans are set for a teaser trailer, with the goal for it to be released either later this month or next.

--Revisions of the script is underway, and should be completed sometime this month.

--Instead of filming it in parts, it will be done in one session.

--No official dates have been set, but it looks like we'll begin production in late September.

--I'm in talks with someone who'll be doing makeup work for the film.

Right now, I've begun looking into ways to raise funding for the movie. If anyone is interested in helping out with that, please let me know.

I'll keep you posted on the film's progress.

Re: Mark of the Wolf

Been a while since I updated things about the movie. Just wanted to let you know that it's still going strong.

--First of all, the script is completed! big_smile I'll make some minor changes here and there, but the basic storyline is set.

--It's looking like we'll start production in the fall. No definite date, but once we get schedules together, I'll post the news.

--Work continues on the teaser trailer. I got someone here who's been helping out with that. I'll tell you who once it's ready to be revealed.

--Also, preliminary work has begun on the werewolf masks as well.

--And finally, figured I'd show you the teaser poster for the movie. I love how this looks!

That's it for now. I'll keep you guys posted!
