I have the first two. It is a really good series. It's nice to see a teen werewolf romance for once.

I loved Shiver as well. It was really interesting to read a book about a different concept related to werewolves ( the ideea that they became wolves due to winter and they only can be humans 3 times/ year or so....) You don't find this kind of thing in any other werewolf novel.

A girl named Grece who was attacked by a wolf pack and survived because one wolf protected her. "Ever since then she's watched for "her" wolf each winter, caught in a longing she can't quite explain". The wolf is actually a werewolf but one able to become human only 3 times per year ( or so) during spring or summer. Anyway...after he is shot he comes to her house where he Shifts into human one last time and tugether with Grace are trying to figure out a cure to be together.

Shiver is a really good book. It is essentially a romance between a werewolf boy and a girl who was ravaged by by wolves. The author brought a really interesting take on the werewolf myth and made it work. And she writes like a dream. I haven't read the sequels yet but their on my to-read list.
Highly recommended.

I guess I have to be the different one here and say that I didn't like this book at all. It was boring. I was so bored to tears that I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Boring, boring, booooring. I did not enjoy the writing style, either. That contributed to its dullness.
The author did manage to come up with a unique take on werewolves, and that's all well and good. But since the rest of the storyline was so boring, it wasn't well used. Everything just fell really flat.

This book is being turned into a movie I think. It's supposed to be the next Twilight...
updates? that was like a year or two ago.

What isn't being turned into the next Twilight? Seriously.
Speaking of which, the author, Maggie Stiefvater, recently blogged to her fans to stop emailing her about casting the movie. She has no input into the making of the film and thereby has no say in casting. Forced to cry uncle under an onslaught of fan demands, she stated her lack of position in the film and would ignore anymore casting suggestions.
Speaking as a screenwriter who's been bruised and bloodied by the cruel demands of film-making, I can certainly understand her position. I doubt the film will actually be made, given the ADD attention span of Hollywood numbers crunchers and marketeers.
But don't let that detract from her books. She's a hell of a writer. And her blog is addictive. She's a charming and witty blogsmith.
Yeah!

I'm thinking this got put on hold as a movie...

I don't normally like romances (although I'm a big fat hypocrite because the book I'm writing actually has quite a bit of that in it), but the twist in werewolf lore has me intrigued. And also that she is apparently a good writer. I hope that its comparison to Twilight is truly unfounded however. If I read it, and the first chapter makes me want to punch someone in the face, then I'm calling shenanigans.

I read the first two at my school and I loved them both. I highly recommend the books if you like romances and werewolf lore combined together.
I really want to read the next book!
